Historia
The United States and Russia are closer to war right now than we have been at any point in history. According to Vladimir Putin - as well as numerous international experts - a global nuclear showdown is becoming increasingly likely. A lack of cooperation between the US and Russia in safeguarding nuclear materials is also increasing the risk of terrorists like ISIS conducting a dirty bomb attack in Europe.

Classic disinformation recipe
Revisado: 05-25-17
Would you try another book from Jordan Atkins and/or Mark Rossman?
No I wouldn't. Although there are some valid points, Jordan tries to cast Putin and Russia as victims time and again with Ukraine, Georgia and Estonia. He also leaves out vital facts about these situations.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
As I mentioned, it does have some valid points in understanding why Russia is behaving as it is, however these points are not vindication, they only help to understand Putin's/Russia's state of mind. It also leaves out details that I know that counter some of these points.

Historia
America is at war, but most of its citizens don't know it. Covert information warfare is being waged by world powers, rogue states - such as Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea - and even terrorist groups like ISIS. This conflict has been designed to defeat and ultimately destroy the United States. This new type of warfare is part of the Information Age that has come to dominate our lives.

Rather biased and not overly detailed
Revisado: 04-06-17
Would you try another book from Bill Gertz and/or Danny Campbell?
No - upon further research I see that Bill Gertz (working for the Washington Free Beacon) is not the most unbiased of writers. In fact, from the first chapter you notice that he has a visceral hatred for Liberals, Muslims, China, and Russia (in that order). Rather than being an informative book on information warfare, the author uses this as a demonstration on how you can twist the truth and leave out pertinent facts in an attempt to spread disinformation. This is not journalistic integrity.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I'm looking for fact based books. Some bias is expected but far extremes are not tolerated.
What didn’t you like about Danny Campbell’s performance?
He reads it like I expect the author wrote it - angry.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
If you aren't interested in the details, it covers some general issues with information warfare and the west's inability to push a false narrative in it's own favor.
Any additional comments?
I quit listening early on. Maybe it got better, but I honestly felt I couldn't trust the validity of the information based on the anger and hatred in the first couple of chapters coupled with the authors (and his employer's) reputation.

Historia
In Unholy Alliance, Jay Sekulow and the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) tackle radical Islam head on. They expose the attempts by fundamentalist Muslims - both in the US and abroad - to destroy our legal system in favor of a system that would destroy our essential liberties. They bring attention to terrorism in today's world and reflect on the recent Paris and San Bernadino attacks as well as Russia, Syria, Iran, and continuous threats to our nation.

Biased, highly conservative and anti-muslim
Revisado: 12-28-16
What disappointed you about Unholy Alliance?
The author seems to vilify all of Islam, blames Obama for ISIS and thinks the US and Israel are pillars of purity that cannot be touched. If you are a conservative, nationalistic American, you may like this but it is not a balanced opinion.
Any additional comments?
There are some good historical elements and it is reasonable to get a contrary opinion of the problems the world faces. I just do not think it is constructive.

Historia
The continuing crisis in Syria has raised a question mark over the common perception of Middle Eastern affairs as an offshoot of global power politics. To Western intellectuals, foreign-policy experts, and politicians, "empire" and "imperialism" are categories that apply exclusively to the European powers and more recently to the United States of America. Lacking an internal dynamic of its own, the view of such people is that Middle Eastern history is the product of its unhappy interaction with the West.

Seemed Biased right out of the gate
Revisado: 09-23-15
What disappointed you about The Tail Wags the Dog?
In the beginning the author seems overly biased and repeated blames the Obama administration for much of the problems even though clearly the issues in the middle east are long running and complex. Further reading seems less factual and more propagandist in nature. Although I welcome alternative interpretations, I was not interested in what appeared to be agenda based propaganda.

Historia
It is the tenth anniversary since the first publication of Daniel Goleman's groundbreaking bestseller, Emotional Intelligence, which maps the territory where IQ meets EQ, where we apply what we know to how we live. Spending over a year on the New York Times bestseller list, Emotional Intelligence provided the evidence for what many successful people already knew: being smart isn't just a matter of mastering facts; it's a matter of mastering your own emotions and understanding the emotions of the people around you.

Clinical book - excellent content
Revisado: 02-01-13
Would you listen to Emotional Intelligence again? Why?
I was reluctant to get this book because of the many bad reviews of the reader, however the real problem I believe is that this is a highly clinical book with very scientific information in it. I absolutely loved it.
