Historia
One shot. One kill. A deadly sniper targets the only man to escape him—Jack Widow. A sniper is out there, murdering the best shooters in the world until he’s all that’s left. Widow is the only man to survive an encounter with the suspect. This sniper is a whisper, a phantom, a ghost, known as the Rainmaker. His shooting falls somewhere between the best there ever was and godlike. As the Rainmaker murders the world’s top shooters in cold blood, one by one, only Widow can track and stop him.

Gunshots out of high-powered rifles that go slower than the speed of sound.
Revisado: 12-27-24
If you want to read a silly narrative, where on multiple occasions, the protagonists see heads blow up after they hear the gunshot from a great distance than this is for you. You’ll also get a stilted storyline and dialogue that does not lack stilted stupidity.
Simply suspend your disbelief. High-powered sniper bullets, which usually travel at 3 to 4 times the speed of sound in this book travel far under the speed of sound. Well done.

Historia
From the author of The Remains of the Day, here is a novel that is at once a gripping psychological mystery, a wicked satire of the cult of art, and a poignant character study of a man whose public life has accelerated beyond his control. The setting is a nameless Central European city where Ryder, a renowned pianist, has come to give the most important performance of his life. Instead, he finds himself diverted on a series of cryptic and infuriating errands that nevertheless provide him with vital clues to his own past.

A purgative

Don’t bother. Add random noise consistent with nothing to address the 15 word minimum for a review.

Historia
Aspiring playwright, Kate Gamble, is struggling to launch a script she’s been secretly researching her entire life, mostly at the family dinner table. Her father is Christian Gamble, CEO of Buck Technologies, a private data integration company whose clients include the CIA and virtually every counter-terrorism organization in the Western World. Kate’s father adores her, and a play about the dark side of Big Data would be the ultimate betrayal in his eyes.

Implausible BS story
Revisado: 08-14-24
This was so bad I stopped with less than an hour left. Female narration is better than some women narrators but only barely. The characters are poorly developed. The interactions are contrived impossible. The premise. Save yourself a nickel don’t bother with this one. I read it because I’m read all,. This one is embarrassing to the author. Ameigh on you for leveraging your name and allowing this palaver to be produced.

Horrid trash
Revisado: 11-20-23
Connolly simply mailed it in on this one. What a disjointed piece of trash I forced myself to listen to the whole thing as I’ve enjoyed some of commonly earlier works but this thing is a piece of dirt.

I have a decent vocabulary, but
Revisado: 06-19-23
I don’t have the words to describe how terrible this is.
I thought his first book the last jihad was OK. This book will deplete your neurons so that you are more ignorant and stupid by the time you finish then you were at the beginning. Yes to be fair I read the whole damn thing. I’ll never read the kind of bloviation This author writes again. And I’ll never listen to the narrator as I would rather spend a dark night listening to fingernails screeching on a blackboard.
I’ve read other views that characterize this as having a good plot or good storylines, and etc. All I can surmise is the reviewers are either reading a different book than I did, or something else. You choose.
If you have a chance to read an abridged version that’s your second best choice your first best choice is to drop this book in the nearest outhouse and Count your blessings.

Historia
Kate Rees, a young American markswoman, has been recruited by British intelligence to drop into Paris with a dangerous assignment: assassinate the Fuhrer. Wrecked by grief after a Luftwaffe bombing killed her husband and infant daughter, she is armed with a rifle, a vendetta, and a fierce resolve. But other than rushed and rudimentary instruction, she has no formal spy training. Thrust into the red-hot center of the war, a country girl from rural Oregon finds herself holding the fate of the world in her hands.
