Historia
Does the number of children gunned down double each year? Does anorexia kill 150,000 young women annually? Do white males account for only a sixth of new workers? Startling statistics shape our thinking about social issues. But all too often, these numbers are wrong. This book is a lively guide to spotting bad statistics and learning to think critically about these influential numbers. Damned Lies and Statistics is essential listening for everyone who reads or listens to the news....

Brilliant

Well performed by the narrator, and the subject made extremely interesting. Had me laughing out loud at time with some fantastic turns of phrase. Very informative, and an aid to critical thinking.

Classic Enid Bylton
Revisado: 07-31-13
The story is full of pleasant English imagery and language. It's dated, though quaint might be a better word. Lovely to listen to, though not as good as nostalgia lead me to believe.

Excellent long fantasy saga
Revisado: 07-31-13
The start of a huge fantasy saga, full of description, meta plots and characters. Although I found the middle books of the series laborious to get through, it's well worth it, in particular the first three.
The narrator took me a few hours to get used to his accent, but then felt smooth, and overall flowed well.

This is the book when Heinlein jumped the shark
Revisado: 04-05-13
There are some wonderful stories, anda couple of the best quote sections in a novel contained in the rambling story. If you are a Heinlien fan it's worth the listen, but if you are new to him, try a different novel first imo, like Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Methuselah's children, Stranger in a dark land. There's some things that I felt just icky listening.
The pause and differeing the narrator for Lazarus drove me bonkers. By the long over due time the narrator finally stop was the later part of the novel, on the bits I liked the least.
The preview sound shows you the pauses inherent in the narration, but it's the not the voice used for Lazarus.
It is astounding value, 25 hours for 1 credit.

Enjoyable listen & true to novel
Revisado: 10-12-12
I very much enjoyed listening to this audio book. I felt it captured the tone of the novel well with it's narration.
Messiah is a much slower less action based sequeal to Dune, but totally engaging concepts and depth.

Average, could of been so much better
Revisado: 10-07-12
I did enjoy the classic feeling story, though short, the plotline was interesting. I was left feeling irriated at the narration choices. It had Matt Smith in it; it should of nailed the performance of the Doctor, and indeed when Matt was speaking as the Doctor, it was good. But large chunks of the narrative were performed by Clare Corbett, including some of the Doctor's dialouge! It felt like two seperate recordings merged into one, Matt and Clare take turns rather than speak together.

Fantastic Rendition

I was extremely impressed by this word perfect reading/performance of Dune.
The various voices, the slight use of sound effects, tone etc made this a great book to listen too.
Amazing value for a credit - It's a huge book which makes for many hours of enjoyable listening.

Historia
This is a spellbinding tale woven of equal parts epic and myth - with a liberal dash of hard science fiction. When a one-way time tunnel to Earth’s distant past, specifically six million B.C., was discovered by folks on the Galactic Milieu, every misfit for light-years around hurried to pass through it. Each sought his own brand of happiness. But none could have guessed what awaited them. Not even in a million years....

Love the book
Revisado: 08-15-12
I have loved this series for a long time, and was excited to be able to listen to it as an audio book.
I think it would of been much harder to get into if I hadn't already known the story, there's a lot of detail.
I enjoyed it a lot, though had a couple of issues with the narration. As mentioned by another reviewer, the constant mistake of metapsychic instead of metaphysic seemed amateurish, and the forced 'crackles' in the voice of older characters downright annoying. The natural voice of narrator would of been better.
I'm really hoping the other books get turned into audio books, and even with the niggles, thoroughly enjoyed listening.
