Historia
Navajo Nation Police Officer Bernadette Manualito witnesses the cold-blooded shooting of someone very close to her. With the victim fighting for his life, the entire squad and the local FBI office are hell-bent on catching the gunman. Bernie, too, wants in on the investigation, despite regulations forbidding eyewitness involvement. But that doesn't mean she's going to sit idly by, especially when her husband, Sergeant Jim Chee, is in charge of finding the shooter. Bernie and Chee discover that a cold case involving his former boss and partner, retired Inspector Joe Leaphorn, may hold the key.

Not as good as the movie
Revisado: 01-19-18
Okay. So I wanted to say I loved this book, but I didn't. Sad face. The movie helped me to see the trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and understand how they are 3 different, but one in the same. The book goes way too much into dialogues of God. That I found hard because as a Christian I know that the word of God is our Bible and we should not be trying to add to it. The idea the writer had for this book, of ultimate and tough forgiveness, does shine through. But I have to say I actually preferred the movie on this one.

Historia
Three-time Christy Award winner Davis Bunn collaborates with Janette Oke to evoke the tumult of first-century Judea in the wake of Christ’s crucifixion. Although she prefers service in Pontius Pilate’s palace to a loveless marriage, Leah is betrothed to a Roman centurion. Before he can have Leah, however, he must go on a secret mission. But when a rabbi’s missing body sends Leah and Alban after the same answers, what they discover could change all they hold dear.

Jeanette One out did herself!
Revisado: 01-19-18
This story takes you back in time to the lives of people who were around when Jesus was crucified. It helped me to put myself in the shoes of the Judeans. I'm sorry, but I did not really care for this speaker. Since I have now listened to other books and have heard some great speakers...I have to say she was hard for me to follow. I had to go back and listen to parts over to follow.

Really good
Revisado: 01-19-18
The romance was sweet and much needed, however not so dramatic like other novels, more real life. Most of the book was refreshing to follow. I noticed a few times the reader was yawning and trying to play it off. The plot was drawn out a little too long, so near the end I got a little bored...but it ends good.

Historia
Only God knew why Jillian Slater agreed to return to New Orleans on the news that her father had finally drunk himself to death. It's not like they were close. She hadn't seen him - or her grandmother, the ice queen - in almost 20 years. But when Adella Atwater, the manager of her grandmother's apartment house, called and said her expenses would be paid if she'd fly in for the burial, a free trip to New Orleans was too intriguing to resist.

Heartwarming!
Revisado: 10-15-17
The character Jillian Slater was captivating. She helped me to remember what it's about to be born again and to find Jesus' mercy and grace. plus, the family drama hit right at home with me. Our family may not be perfect but they are the ones God has blessed us with.

Overall I really loved this book. The speaker is excellent! She helped me to stay intrigued and to follow along, as well as picture the characters in my minds. This was a nice change up from the stories I usually read and I will be checking out more in this series.
