Christians in Bible-believing churches often do not receive explicit teaching on angels because expositional sermons focus on the meaning of the text—and the biblical authors are rarely focused on discussing angels. The consequence is that legends or superstitions often cloud our reflections about supernatural beings. Pastors also rarely receive in-depth exposure to this subject in seminary. This book satisfies a need for teaching about the angels for a popular audience who want to speak and think biblically about the spiritual realm.

Rejuvenates my faith in the text of the Bible!

I believe that Scripture should be studied and understood in the worldview and experiences of the inspired writer to the degree that we can understand. Professor Gilhooly makes this plain as he walks us through the multitude and maze of angelic/demonic passages in Scripture. I especially appreciated:
1. The amount of effort spent on exegesis of key words (study of how ANE words are used to derive the most accurate meaning)
2. His straightforward and scripturally based interpretations and teachings on these two subjects
3. He includes many thought-provoking pearls of theological ideals and wisdom for our consideration.
