Struggling artist Avery Ross is barely scraping by. Bartending at a trendy New York City restaurant for an overbearing boss and two weeks away from losing her apartment to a condo developer, she's desperate for a break. So when she's offered a temporary housesitting job, she takes it. Living at one of the poshest addresses in Manhattan is like entering a new world - one that catapults her into the orbit of billionaire Dominic Baine, the darkly handsome, arrogantly alpha resident of the building's penthouse.

what a waste of time. I think one intimate experience took over 4 chapters. relied on sensationalism. at least it was free.

Historia
Jack Diller is just one more struggling actor on the road to nowhere. He’s got an agent who barely remembers his name, his ex-girlfriend has hooked up with a Silicon Valley dude, and the milk in his fridge is so far past its sell-by date it’s historic. The only way Jack can scrape together a bare existence is by delivering food to exactly the types of successful people he wishes he could be. Then, one day, a very strange audiobook shows up on his phone.

OMG what a treat
Revisado: 06-15-22
Really enjoyed this story. Wil Wheaton was a fantastic narrator. I found his inflections perfect for this story. And the story was interesting and surprising. I typically find music in audio books to be tired and trying too hard but here the producer did a great job as the music completely helped the story.

great series
Revisado: 06-05-22
I stumbled upon this series and have really enjoyed the 4 books so far. easy listening of courtroom dramas. Nate is a great lead character as a lawyer conducting defenses for murder trials when he isn't really a murder trial lawyer but has fallen into it through varying circumstances. George the narrator is superb.

Historia
Ten years ago he killed my son. Today I married him. Ten years ago my darling son Jesse was murdered and our perfect family was destroyed. My strong, handsome boy, so full of life, became a memory, a photo I carried with me everywhere. But today I’m finally close to finding happiness again. My ash-blonde hair has been curled into ringlets. Carefully placed white flowers frame my delicate features. The small, drab chapel has been prettied up with white satin, and there are tiny red hearts scattered on the small table where I will soon sign the register with my new husband.

great narration
Revisado: 10-05-21
I've listened to many books on audible and think this is the best match between narrator and character. The cadence and delivery was very easy to listen to and I think she completely captured the essence of the main character Cas.
the story was interesting and kept my interest. while Cas' life is one I have zero connection with I could nonetheless relate. great listen. worth the time to enjoy.

I liked it but...
Revisado: 07-14-21
I truly enjoyed the writing style of the author and the narrator. both were quite enjoyable. however, the story at times was annoying and at the end I had difficulty connecting characters. Almost as if they were newly introduced, I could not place them and identify where they fit in the story.

Historia
In the grand storytelling style that is his signature, James Michener sweeps us back through time to the very beginnings of the Jewish faith, thousands of years ago. Through the predecessors of four modern men and women, we experience the entire colorful history of the Jews, including the life of the early Hebrews and their persecutions, the impact of Christianity, the Crusades, and the Spanish Inquisition, all the way to the founding of present-day Israel and the Middle East conflict.

rather boring
Revisado: 04-10-21
This was a recommendation that I wish I skipped. I stuck with it to the end but overall a pretty big waste of time. The characters didnt develop and I was not really interested in what they did. Boring story. I was not a fan of the author's reading either. Hey at least it was short.......
