The story itself is another masterpiece by King, but the narrator was a terrible choice. I dont think the narrator is necessarily a bad narrator; he probably would be perfect for some other books. But every time I listened to this I was annoyed by the voices the narrator used for the characters. The accents dont fit at all and some of the adult characters literally sound like he's trying to impersonate 7 or 8 year old children. For me, he just doesnt work well with this book.

Absolutely not a guide to valid arguments

I have been reading a number of books on logic, arguments, and critical thinking lately because I think they are skills every person should try and develop, especially in the information age where people are bombarded with illogical or manipulative arguments every time they consume news or social media. Being able to effectively analyze arguments is the difference between being manipulated by others or being able to make rational decisions.
The reason I gave this book one star is because it is the worst book I have ever read related to arguments. This book should have had a very easy time delivering on its promise, considering how easy it is to find and debunk extreme views in the world of politics. However, the author breaks the foundational rule of arguing and lets her emotions get in the way, allowing the valid arguments to give way to fallacious rants.
"Alternative facts" is just a more complex way of saying "lies". Debating lies has never been easier in the information age as most can be debunked with a brief amount of research. However, even after debunking lies with researched facts, the author goes on to continue attacking the lies with opinion, fallacies, and other lies (alternative facts). This is blatant failure in what should have been an easy goal for anyone with even a beginner level understanding of logic and debates. Considering the increasing importance of critical thinking, it is frustrating to see this book commit the very mistakes it claims to be fighting against.
Also, many of the positive reviews seem to be of a cookie cutter variety, so beware.
