Historia
What does it mean to "think Orthodox"? What are the unspoken and unexplored premises and presumptions underlying what Christians believe? Orthodox Christianity is based on preserving the mind of the early Church, its phronema. Dr. Jeannie Constantinou brings her more than 40 years' experience as a professor, Bible teacher, and speaker to bear in explaining what the Orthodox phronema is, how it can be acquired, and how that phronema is expressed in true Orthodox theology.

Heresies interwoven with Orthodoxy

Absolutely do not recommend this book for anyone, Orthodox Christians or not. I regret reading it and wished I had stopped halfway through but it just gets worse and worse. If you’re an Orthodox Christian, don’t pollute your nous with this garbage.

This worked to quit cigarettes. How about phones?
Revisado: 09-26-23
I quit smoking about 8 years ago using Alan Carr's Easy Way method (the same method used in this book). I had smoked for 30 years, a pack a day, and had tried literally every way there is to quit smoking. Nothing worked and it was always an incredibly painful struggle. Just unbearable. With Alan Carr's method, it was effortless and completely painless. I never went back.
I have since developed a catastrophic phone addiction. I'll spend 12 hours a day sometimes scrolling through twitter. It's become unbearable and is interfering with my life. I just finished this book and am 100% convinced that it will work just as well as it did for smoking. I'm DONE with my phone addiction! Today is 9/26 and I will come back and update this review so people reading it will understand that this WORKS.
After finishing the book, I was incredibly excited because I absolutely knew that it had worked. Incredible. Alan Carr was a genius. This technique is life-saving. I am so grateful!
And what a bargain! $8 for a way to eliminate 12+ hours a day of COMPLETELY wasted time? Yes, please, and thank you very much!
If you're struggling with "phone addiction," then don't think about it. Buy this book and start reading it. By the time you finish, you will have everything that you need to PERMANENTLY break your addiction and FREE yourself from the prison of "smart phone addiction."

Then Callie's best friend, Logandina, falls ill with a mysterious malady that causes her spirit to waste away before vanishing altogether. As she delves deeper into the mysteries behind her friend's departure, the witchkind powers-that-be try to keep her from searching for the cause.

An engaging, can't-put-it-down read.
Revisado: 10-09-18
This is a wonderfully written and narrated book, and I'm very much looking forward to the next one in the series! Callie is a very engaging, likable witch dealing with a very complicated life. The creativity that went into creating the world and all the rules that go along with it was very impressive. There was an expression that will always ring in my ears when I think about this book. At one point, Callie is ruminating, and she mentions how Jeremy is Warlock-splaining to her. It's all the little gems sparkling brilliantly while tucked into an engaging, satisfying plot that make this such a great book. The writing is top notch, and very well edited. The narrator is also a great way to enjoy the book. I originally started reading the kindle version, then got the audio version and switched back and forth between the two (which seems to be my preferred method of reading these days. All hail Amazon's WhisperSync!) I'm ready to read the next book, please!

Excellent, fast paced and well written
Revisado: 08-22-16
I've read this book twice now (the Audio version and the kindle version). It's a great, very original story that's paced quickly and builds tension well. It does require a bit of suspension of disbelief in certain parts, but this is easy to forgive based on the overall merit of the work.

Incredible overview of enlightenment!
Revisado: 05-21-04
I've listened to hundreds of audio books, and read many thousands of printed books in my life. Many of these books have been spiritual in nature. This book provides one of the most coherent, moving overviews of meditation and enlightenment that I've come across. Whether you're just beginning on a spiritual path or have been living in a cave for 10 years, meditating for hours a day; you will find something useful and inspiring in this book. Well worth every penny!

Mediocre at best...
Revisado: 06-28-03
I got this book because of the description and the title, both of which sounded great. Once I got into it about 1/4th of the way though, I found myself unable to really immerse myself enjoy it. It just wasn't as dangerous or exotic as the marketing made it sound. While the story may be original, it doesn't compensate for the writing style seeming mechanical and unimaginative. Maybe I gave up too soon (about 1/2 way through) and missed the part where it got really exciting and original and worth reading but I doubt it...
