Historia
In the summer of 1961, a wall of barbed wire goes up quickly in the dead of night, officially dividing Berlin. Luisa Voigt lives in West Berlin, but her grandmother lives across the border and is now trapped inside the newly isolated communist country of East Germany. Desperate to rescue her grandmother and aware of the many others whose families have been divided, Luisa joins a secret spy network, risking her life to help bring others through a makeshift underground tunnel to West Germany. Their work is dangerous, and not everyone will successfully escape or live to see freedom.

Early in 1968, a nuclear-armed Soviet submarine sank in the waters off Hawaii, hundreds of miles closer to American shores than it should have been. Compelling evidence strongly suggests that the sub sank while attempting to fire a nuclear missile.

A bit dry but super interesting historical account
Revisado: 05-28-23
Not the most entertaining narrator or author, but super interesting historical account. I learned a ton about this era in history from this book. If you can push through the overly detailed and sometimes dry content, you will gain significant historical context from this book.

Godawa is the man
Revisado: 05-13-23
I've learned more biblical history and sound theology from Brian than any other source. His historical fiction novels are one of the easiest ways to learn as you become part of the story. Throughout my life I've studied prophecy and with every other framework felt like there were major holes but for the first time I can see clearly as early followers of Jesus would have interpreted these writings of John and Paul and other early apostles and prophets of old. Now I'm beginning to hear from other scholars like Shane Wood (shanejwood.com) that this framework is the age old model. That's why it makes so much sense and simplifies even the foretelling words of Jesus in the gospels. Great work, you won't regret buying this one.
