Emotional novel
Revisado: 02-02-25
Awesome! Deeply touching, realistic, historical, engrossing, and emotional. Characters are well developed and so realistic. Early life decisions made due to class turn to decisions made for survival. Excellently narrated. Wonderful!

Historia
A servant girl escapes from a colonial settlement in the wilderness. She carries nothing with her but her wits, a few possessions, and the spark of god that burns hot within her. What she finds in this terra incognita is beyond the limits of her imagination and will bend her belief in everything that her own civilization has taught her.

The prose was rich and flowed with rhythms and ease.

I liked that the story didn’t have a fairytale ending. So many people die alone. The telling of that saga as a spiritual linking to the earth was wonderful.
