Historia
On Easter Sunday morning, the city of Boston is struck by a widespread and coordinated series of terrorist attacks: an explosion in the T, a suicide bomber at Back Bay Police Station, and heavily armed gunmen taking hostages at the Patriot Hotel. For robotics innovator Louis Massina, aka the Puppet Master, this is far more personal than a savage act of political terrorism. Boston is his city - and one of his employees, Chelsea Goodman, is among the hostages facing certain death.

Worst narration ever for an Audible book
Revisado: 07-12-23
This book was almost unlistenable and impossible to follow because of the awful narration. I have been an Audible consumer for many years and hundreds of books and this is the only one I have ever returned because the narration was so bad.
The book itself was ok, not the best by Brown/DeFelice but it became hard to separate the story from the distraction of the narration

Historia
A stunning memoir from the astronaut who spent a record-breaking year aboard the International Space Station - a candid account of his remarkable voyage, of the journeys off the planet that preceded it, and of his colorful formative years. A natural storyteller and modern-day hero, Kelly has a message of hope for the future that will inspire for generations to come. Here, in his personal story, we see the triumph of the human imagination, the strength of the human will, and the boundless wonder of the galaxy.

Interesting but disappointing
Revisado: 01-18-19
As a fan of the space program and one who has read so many of the books out there such as "The Right Stuff", "Just us Seven", "A Man on the Moon", "Apollo 8", "Return to Earth", "Rocket Men" and so many others, my expectations were high. I had read excerpts from the book and was intrigued. Unfortunately, the book disappointed. While I have all the respect in the world for Scott Kelly and what he accomplished, both his writing style and more importantly his narration leave a lot to be desired. His reading was almost emotionless, even when describing events of great emotions. A professional narrator would have made this so much better. In terms of the content, there are events and ideas that are mentioned and never returned to, there are observations and comments that are repeated and many of the stories just lack depth. So much promise could have been helped by maybe a better editor or the help of a ghost writer and a narrator.

Historia
Mark, Todd, and Zola came to law school to change the world, to make it a better place. But now, as third-year students, these close friends realize they have been duped. They all borrowed heavily to attend a third-tier, for-profit law school so mediocre that its graduates rarely pass the bar exam, let alone get good jobs. And when they learn that their school is one of a chain owned by a shady New York hedge-fund operator who also happens to own a bank specializing in student loans, the three know they have been caught up in The Great Law School Scam.

Disappointing and Mediocre
Revisado: 04-11-18
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. Really just disappointing on all counts. Meant to be a statement against for profit law schools, a wells fargo like scandal and DACA/immigration, but provides little depth or insight into any of the issues.
Would you be willing to try another book from John Grisham? Why or why not?
I have read all of Grishams books and will probably continue to do so.
What does Ari Fliakos bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ari has a good reading style and pace, slight differences in voices give "color" to the characters.
Was The Rooster Bar worth the listening time?
It was an easy and quick listen, it didn't drone on and on. Not a waste of time, just not up to normal Grisham standards.
Any additional comments?
This book just misses on its intended points. Characters are overall not very likable and the story stretched reality on almost every front just a little too much. Tried to wrap DACA, Banking fraud and for profits schools together into one plot line and all of them fell flat.

Historia
Renée Ballard works the night shift in Hollywood, beginning many investigations but finishing none, as each morning she turns her cases over to day shift detectives. A once up-and-coming detective, she's been given this beat as punishment after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor. But one night she catches two cases she doesn't want to part with: the brutal beating of a prostitute left for dead in a parking lot and the killing of a young woman in a nightclub shooting. Ballard is determined not to give up at dawn.

Good Story, poor narration
Revisado: 08-01-17
I think the character shows promise and the story is good but the narrator was just not good. Main character would have been so much better with a better reading.

Disappointed
Revisado: 09-28-15
Usually a big fan of Baldacci books. This one was overall disappointing. Purchased the book because it sounded promising and having completed a bunch of his more recent works. I didn't realize until after purchase that it was a rerelease of a book from 2000.
Completely disliked the narration. Made the book very difficult to listen to. Because of the narration it was very hard to really like any character.
Story showed promise but really no depth where there should have been and I felt the ending 2 chapters were kind of a quicker ending after some of the build up.
