Historia
Black resistance to white supremacy is often reduced to a simple binary, between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s nonviolence and Malcolm X's "by any means necessary." In We Refuse, historian Kellie Carter Jackson urges us to move past this false choice, offering an unflinching examination of the breadth of Black responses to white oppression, particularly those pioneered by Black women.

Refreshing re-framing of the Black experience
Revisado: 01-27-25
This was a refreshing reframing of the experience of Black people. It presents various options on how to move forward. I was so impressed by this book. I bought the audiobook and a hard copy. I encourage you to read it in its entirety.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Compelling story!
Revisado: 02-13-19
This book was so good. The story is very compelling and the various people in the story as heard through Trevor's voice, make you feel you are right there experiencing it with him. It is a miracle Trevor survived his journey as a child, but his mom kept him prayed up. Trevor is a magnificent story teller. I highly recommend this read.
