Just what we needed

I appreciated the explanations and depths of love discussed in this book. It's very comforting to know that a lot of my fears/reactions as well as my husband's and our children's were normal. I grew so much in understanding of our family. I think this is also a great book for those who struggle to understand emotions. You can learn what to do even when you don't understand, like learning a new language.

I found what I was looking for.

I was looking for a book to help navigate me through some of the things that we might expect or rather things I didn't expect. Our own personal experiences and expectations could only take us so far. I think it is wise to seek out the wisdom you might need to have a successful marriage and family. I read this so that I could be ready for whatever might come our way. My husband is now looking into The Smart Step Dad. I found it helpful. The main thing I took from this book is to have patience and grace for my husband who became a husband and father of two all at once all the while never getting to see his own child. How all the change might effect him and my kids and what to do about it.
