I really wanted to like The Au Pair Affair, but it just didn’t work for me. The characters didn’t feel real, and the story moved too fast to really get into it. There were a couple of good parts, but overall, it felt kind of flat and predictable. I thought it would be more exciting, but it wasn’t.

Narration was also great. I loved this book and the characters. They were all so genuine. I wish the book would have just kept going!

Atlas of the Heart is nothing short of transformative. Brené Brown has an incredible gift for taking complex emotions and human experiences and breaking them down into clear, relatable insights that resonate deeply. This book is a beautifully written guide to understanding the language of emotions, fostering meaningful connections, and navigating the messiness of being human.

Brown’s research is woven seamlessly with storytelling, making each chapter engaging and thought-provoking. The way she maps out emotions and experiences feels like an invitation to explore our inner worlds with curiosity and compassion. Her vulnerability and authenticity shine through, making her guidance feel accessible and relatable rather than prescriptive.

I especially appreciated the actionable takeaways, which I’ve already started applying to my relationships and self-reflection practices. Atlas of the Heart is more than just a book—it’s a resource you’ll want to revisit again and again as you grow. Highly recommend this to anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of themselves and others.

I had high hopes for Bitter Notes given the premise, but it fell short for me. While the concept was intriguing, the execution left much to be desired. The characters felt one-dimensional, and I struggled to connect with them emotionally. The pacing was uneven, with long stretches of unnecessary exposition that made the story drag.

The writing style itself was a mixed bag—there were moments of brilliance, but these were overshadowed by clunky dialogue and overused metaphors. I wanted to love this book, but it ultimately didn’t deliver the depth or engagement I was looking for.

That said, I can see how others might enjoy it, particularly if they’re more forgiving of slow pacing and a focus on atmosphere over plot. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t for me.

Everyone should read this book to change their mind on money, but especially young women. I was a personal banker for five years on a college campus and had the pleasure of teaching so many young people how to use credit and money responsibly and this book oh why it is so important to get a good financial start. It reminded me of staying in tune with the life that I want to live and make my money work hard for me and not the other way around.

I read the first book in the series and I loved it… But this one just didn’t cut it for me. The whole first half of the book is awkward and irritating. The narrators do a good job, but it’s hard to get past the terrible storyline and annoying character attributes.

It was so good to get the backstory of this musical. It has been with me for so long. Anyone who is a fan of this musical should listen to this book and get a deeper understanding of the origin. I really loved how it was red and presented by different people, little insights from everyone who was involved.
