I really liked this story. I saw Manhunter years ago on TV & liked it. The introduction to Dr. Hannibal Lector was great. The narrator did a fantastic job not only telling the story but utilizing different voices for different characters.

I only wish the ending would’ve concluded with what happened after Will Graham was released & what happened with Molly, that’s where the 4 stars comes from as far as story.

Overall very very good. I’m in the process of revisiting the entire series. I started again with “Hannibal Rising” now I’m on to “The Silence of The Lambs”.

The Narrator added so much to the story

I enjoyed this audible. The narrator did an excellent job expressing the various voices of the characters it added so much more to the story.

Ms. Bahni Turpin is a Masterful Storyteller!

I LOVE this audible book!!!! The way Sis. Turpin weaves thru the different voices giving each voice its own life, emotional depth and force is truly masterful. The book truly came to life under her watch.

This book is not my first or second time listening to Sis. Turpin give life to the characters on the written page & it most certainly won’t be my last.

Bro. James Baldwin.. what can I say about this gifted literary elder long residing now with the ancestors? He is the father who birthed this powerful book giving Black folks and the world this wonderful gift.

I love the movie adaptation I’ve watched it many times. Fonny & Tish a Black love story that couldn’t be fully realized due to one egotistical race soldier’s hatred & evil lies backed up by an evil racist government/judicial system that supports him, along with ditzy “Victoria Rodgers” ..
just typing her name makes me mad.

Nevertheless, I give this audiobook & Sis. Bahni Turpin’s vocal interpretation performance a 10/10!✊🏾

Another Gritty Story From The Master Bro. Donald Goines

Midnite Mike did an excellent job narrating this audiobook. He added the right vocal inflections to make the book listenable & interesting.

Donald Goines is & will always be the Master StoryTeller of the Black Experience. I’ve read ALL his books many times over & it’s exciting to have his work rolled out (though a bit slow) in the form of audiobooks.

I am waiting for the rest of his books to come to audible especially “Swamp Man”.
I can never catch the website audible refers to at the end of story. I’ll try once again to go back & listen.

The Black men & Black woman narrating these books in the Donald Goines collection thus far have done an excellent job!

I recommend you give them a listen✊🏾

Totally UNFIT For Office

Donald Trump said years ago if you want to get idiots to believe anything they’re told, say it on Fox News. I’m paraphrasing but that’s the gist of it. This book was excellent it just confirmed what sane people already know.
Now Trump is a twice impeached 4 times indicted on 91 felony counts found guilty of sexual assault UNFIT for office front runner in the GOP race to become President again.
This Treasonous Seditious instigator of January 6, 2020 must be stopped!

Watched The 8Ep AppleTV Series, Had To Hear The Audiobook

I love this audiobook but what made the actual story even better was the narration! The narrator really did an excellent job with every single character he voiced, the emotions displayed in his voice in the retelling made the listener feel like they were in the story feeling those actual emotions.

The story itself was captivating from beginning to end not a boring part in the book. I love the way Glover Gardner switched so easily between characters even the female character Jacob’s mother Laurie, it sounded natural & not overly put on coming from a male narrator. I look forward to hearing more audiobooks from this narrator.

I would recommend this audiobook to all & definitely this narrator was the right man for the job.
More narrators could take lessons from Mr. Glover Gardner!

Good Story. Horrible Unworthy Ending

The narration was very good. I love when various voice read the story with feeling. The ending of this book it’s like the author had a great story great build up .. GAVE UP!
The ending was horrible & made no sense at all in conjunction with the story. The readers deserved much much more.

Usually the book is better than the movie but this time the movie is waaay better than the book. Even the movie ending could’ve been better but it was much better than what the author gave us in his book.

Wish I could’ve liked the book ending more but quite frankly I feel gypped.

Donald Goines: The Master of Hood Storytellers

I’ve read all of Donald Goines’ books and they are gritty and REAL! This audiobook narration just adds to the thrill. The narrator did an excellent job adding depth and realism to the story. I recommend all of Donald Goines’ books to anyone that can handle the truth about racism, police brutality, corrupt systems of just US and poverty… To those who live in a bubble and are scared to death then I suggest you LEAVE IT ALONE!

The Realest of The Real!

I’ve read all of Bro. Goines’ books & to have them on audiobook is what’s up! Great read in this 4 part Kenyatta series. I look forward to the final 2 books to hit audible & I’m there!

I really enjoy Mirron Willis’ narration he adds the type of emotion & depth these books deserve. I’m a fan of his for sure. When I see he’s narrating I already know it’s gonna be FIRE!
