Historia
Plantaganet Palliser, Prime Minister of England - a man of power and prestige, with all the breeding and inherited wealth that goes with it - is appalled at the inexorable rise of Ferdinand Lopez. An exotic impostor, seemingly from nowhere, Lopez has society at his feet, while well-connected ladies vie with each other to exert influence on his behalf - even Palliser’s own wife, Lady Glencora.

SOME AUTHORS NEVER LOOSE THEIR STORY ABILITY
Revisado: 03-12-18
Would you listen to The Prime Minister again? Why?
YES.
LIKE MOST OF TROLLOPE'S WRITING IT TELLS A SMOOTH TALE, WITH
EXCELLENT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
What other book might you compare The Prime Minister to and why?
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
TO GREAT WRITERS THAT NEVER BECOME ENTANGLED IN PRESENTING
THEIR CHARACTERS
What does Timothy West bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
GOOD SENSE OF TIMING, VOICING THAT DOES NOT DRAG
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
WISH I COULD
BUT ALWAYS HOLD YOUR INTEREST UNTIL YOU LAY IT DOWN FOR THE LAST TIME

Historia
In the 21st century, the United States has all but used up its oil supply. A new source must be found. Our atomic subtugs begin stealing oil from underwater deposits in enemy territory. But none of the last 20 tugs sent to bring back the desperately needed mineral have returned. Ensign John Ramsey of the Bureau of Psychology is planted aboard the Fenian Ram S1881 as an electronics officer. His assignment: find the saboteur in the four-man crew and bring back the oil.

HERBERT STILL LEARNING HIS STYLE SF OF THE FIFTIES
Revisado: 03-12-18
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I TRIED TO READ THIS BOOK IN THE MID SIXTIES, BUT NEVER SEEM TO CATCH,
THE INTERACTION GROWS TEDIOUS AND SEEMS SOMEWHAT MURKY EVEN WHEN THERE ARE ONLY FOUR CHARACTERS AT PLAY.
What do you think your next listen will be?
C W C OMAN ACCOUNT OF THE MIDDLE AGES
What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
CLEAR AND GOOD DICTION, HARD FOR THE NARRATOR TO MAKE THE STORY MORE LIVELY
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
NO
Any additional comments?
EVEN THE IMMORTAL JANE AUSTEN HAD A FEW BAD PARAGRAPHS.

Historia
Are history books giving us the whole story? Or is civilization far more complex and for older than we have been taught? Our school textbooks barely mention the 6,000-year-old Sumerian civilization, yet the latest archaeological findings at sites such as Jericho, and most recently, Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, have been dated to 10,000 BC. Civilization goes back at least another 10,000 years, if we are willing to believe what our ancestors themselves claimed.

same song different words

What disappointed you about The Lost Civilization Enigma?
I found it to be breathlessly sketchy with rapidly related details, all in the manner of the discovery channel and it's imitators, who present such informative comments as "could the giant heads on easter island represent visitors from another world?"
A noxious disorganized presentation covered in the cloak of the pseudo nonsense of the tedious fraud Eric Vaon danieken.
Might as well order the tale from the Brothers Grimm to go along with this drivel. At least the
Brothers were true scholars on their subject matter.
What could Philip Coppens have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Take a little better care in presenting his facts and suppositions in a more convincing manner.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Delivered the material in the hasty and breathy manner that we find in most of those Lost Atlantis and mysterious undersea grottos that cover the History, Discovery and other informational channels.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Lost Civilization Enigma?
If I were the editor I would have a retired NFL line man to show writers of this time the door in a convincing manner./
Any additional comments?
Listened to most of it for entertainment without expecting any revelations of a convincing nature.
Almost as bad as the guys who show the evidence of the giant men described in the old testament. "Could these be the Giants of the bible."?
