As a mom and grandma , and someone who lives in England…I feel this book is a must read. I could care less about the individuals and wish the family wouldn’t take so much of the revels about who said, who did to heart …but focus more on the heart and mind of the young man .

This is his perception, and as family that should be heard and respected . As a mom and grandma, it just keeps in the forefront the need to listen to our children and respect their point of view even when we see it differently .

More than anything , I hope this family can heal and I hope the next chapter in Harry’s life celebrates his service and wisdom .

May all families use this book to learn and have the privacy from this point on to connect .

Thinking and taking about race can feel overwhelming- not knowing how or when to broach the topic and then trying to navigate the emotions and beliefs … This book is a good read for people who plan to coach inequities but also for people who want to face and help dismantle racial inequity- or even understand the impact of systemic racism.

These may all seem like buzz words but this book breaks them down and provided more to help readers gain a needed vocabulary that provides a more concrete way to understand, express, and clarify systemic racism and racial bias.

I read Me and White Supremacy and So You Want to Talk About Race before …which may have set the foundation …but this could be a good starting point as well .

I really feel the book is more for all educators and humans than just coaches - yet essential for coaches in any career.

Well narrated . Good pace and clear … I used with the book to read through any diagrams and lists mentioned.

With everything going on in the world, it was a good listen to help remember what is also going on in the world. Hayley didn’t strump for Trump when he first ran, which is one of the reasons I choose this book. I wanted a point of vireo from someone outside that eventually worked inside.

I valued learning a out her walk as a child of immigrant parents, as a minority in the South, about her experiences and thoughts as she served as South Carolina’s governor and then US Ambassador.

It was a good listen and I learned about behind the scene events and actions of countries such as Russia, China, North Korean, Iran and more. Also, her challenges taking on ways to support civil and human rights.

I didn’t feel there was a lot of propaganda which can be so much in our news right now.

What a great book! Changed the way I see conflict from a negative to a nature part of life. Lots of great ideas for how to view and work through conflicts.

There are moments that are somber...but Amy S. has such a positive and forward moving outlook on life, you can't help but smile and laugh as she shares the updates and bumps of her life. I found her funny, encouraging, and honest.

Chris Jones draws you into the current space program in ways that bring the events of Columbia's tragedy, current work aboard the ISS as well as the history of space exploration to life. Although some reviews have criticized his overly dramatic style, they forget that NASA teemed with Disney to make the Apollo program more accessible and exciting to people in the 1960s. I loved the artistic flair...it helped me 'see' and relate better to the events he unfolded.

Obviously, I enjoyed listening to this book immensely. More than just listening, I found that I would look up dates, events, people as the chapters went along to learn more about the details behind some of the stories presented. I don't think you even have to be that interested in the space program to find Too Far from Home captivating....but you will finish it wanting to know what happens next. I hope Chris Jones writes more! Erik Davies did a superb narration as well!
