Historia
Miranda isn't happy when sullen orphan Abby Chandler comes to live with her family. But Miranda's anger turns to shock when she learns the girl's horrible secret: Abby's parents and sisters were killed in a house fire in this very town - more than 300 years ago. Somehow Abby survived the fire and has been living in a virtual limbo ever since.

I really love Kathryn Reiss as a general rule. Some of her other books continue to be all time favorites of mine. I was excited for a continuation of Miranda Brown’s story, Time Windows is a top 5 of all time for me still. But dang! This was a flop! It had so, so, so much potential to be incredible….and it was….lame? I think thats the best word to describe it. It was not up to snuff to her other time traveling books, thats for sure. I am not a huge fan of the narrator, but even her siri-esque voice was better than this story line.

I read this book in one sitting as a young teenager, i stayed up until 4am to finish! Its just as good, maybe even better than the first time around. I dont love the narrator, her voice can be…odd. However this was the third book ive listened to and i might be just used to her style now, but it was less robotic than the other books somehow. If you can get past that, the book itself is phenomenal.

Lovely bit of nostalgia
Revisado: 02-16-24
This was one of my favorite books as a preteen, I dressed as clementine for book character day at school and everything! I cant say i love the narrator’s voice, another review likened the performance to Siri and honestly they wasnt super off. But i love this book so much that i could look past it. So interesting to revisit a book after growing up, becoming a mom, living life…still cant stand Jen, though, so some things never change! Ha!

Incredible.
Revisado: 11-07-23
Michelle Williams did a great job narrating this heartbreaking tale of courage. Britney has always been “my star”, she was always and still is my favorite female artist. I felt a surreal connection to her from the moment i heard her voice at 9. I cried and my heart ached learning just how traumatized she truly is, and still living. I am so proud to be a Britney fan. This book was full of bombshells and I hope all the people exposed get exactly what is just.
