A really honest story. The main theme is grief and trauma. There’s also a beautiful love story and adventure. Not many people understand a truth teller as they don’t make people feel good about themselves by being so blunt. Being one myself, I understand completely and am here to say this story is very relatable as all families have similar characters and issues. Wishing Harry and his family all the happiness in the world.

As a fellow South African Trevor’s story gave me a brand new perspective. As a white, Jewish South African of the same age I learned that even though our neighborhoods were so close, our lives were so different. We realized that Able was at one time my husband’s mechanic. His story made me laugh, cry, and experience every emotion in between. I highly recommend this raw, honest, insightful and at times hilarious biography.

Cilka was only 16 years old when she was taken to Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, in 1942. The Commandant at Birkenau, Schwarzhuber, noticed her long beautiful hair, and forced her separation from the other women prisoners. Cilka did what she had to in order to survive Auschwitz. And yet after Russian soldiers liberated Auschwitz in 1945, Cilka was charged as a collaborator and sentenced to serve a 15-year sentence for 'sleeping with the enemy'. Once again, she found herself on a brutal train journey, crammed into a carriage with many desperate women and children.

Loved it!!! Highly recommend.

It took me a while to get into, because it was not what I expected. Although this story is not told by Cilka, it’s a story very much worth being told. It’s rich in historical fact and had well-developed interesting characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The narrator was excellent too.

This is a very honest and touching story. It’s a story of healing and resilience. I really enjoyed the content and narration. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was that is got a little too preechy for me towards the end.

Wonderful insight into Demi.

This was my first audio book. It was lovely to feel like Demi was telling me her story, in her own words. I felt her emotions and enjoyed her insight and life lessons, which I’m sure everyone can in some way connect to themselves. I recommend this book to everyone. I enjoyed every minute.
