Historia
The knight was supposed to be a man. Not me, Sophie MacKnight, a marketing associate from California. This must be a practical joke that the Scots play on visiting Americans. Because otherwise I’ve inherited a haunted castle in Scotland, along with one irritatingly sexy Scotsman, who would be delighted if I turned tail and ran. Frankly, I thought I would fly here, sell the heap of bricks, and head back home to a life that I…well, I was comfortable with at the very least. Instead, the people of Loren Brae are in trouble, and it appears that as the new owner of the castle.

Faith in yourself
Revisado: 08-30-24
Having faith in our own self is one of the hardest things to remember to do for ourselves. Thank you so much for the reminder for some reason this seems to be one thing that’s hard to remember that we can make choices for ourselves to take care of ourselves emotionally, and physically. I love your books!

I really enjoyed the reader and story. I wish the story had a pet lol. But the premise is cool and unique. The main character. Grows by leaps and bounds. I was about over her during the second book, but she had kept growing through the whole series. I'll be looking at more stories by this author.

I wasn't impressed by the story
Revisado: 10-03-23
The story premise is fine, but the execution was poor. Does Daniel Steel ever use ghost writers because that's what this feels like.
There were still 3 chapters after the big tension was lifted. Way too much for an epilogue. It did wrap some things up at the end, but it would have been better to wrap up some before the jail risk tension ended and shorten the part that came after that.
Actually on that note I was disappointed that the other person who was set up to take the fall never for justice that we know of.
My biggest gripe is how the authore repeats things over and over to try to get across the negative stuff. It gets old. The repetition would work in something like a serial that's released every week or month to remind readers, but it doesn't work for a book.
The reader is pretty good. I have one small criticism. He fades off at the end of each sentence. Not great for my slightly bad hearing.
I get this is a woman hoorah story. Yeah it does that. But it only elevates the women who take on strong masculine qualities and plays into that myth being pushed onto society. I didn't realize how bad it was until I grew up. Being a stay at home mom is all but played as a mistake in this story. Women have all the time in the world to have their career before children and having children in the early 20's is early to have kids as per books. That's not reality. And as I see it being a stay at home is more important. Otherwise you are having schools raise your children with both parents coming home in the evening too tired to partake in the child rearing full heartedly. This is literally as feminine as you can get and it is belittled. I get some characters not choosing to go this route, but it was put down at so many turns. Even the gay guy who considers adoption one day has an experience that spooks him from having a family. Blech

I don't even have the words to express
Revisado: 02-15-23
My disappointment and anger over this book are very high. The first 3 were fantastic, this one is horrible. Thank goodness book 3 left things at a good end point because if I had to slog through this rubbish to get my ending my month would be ruined.
Male lead is fine, but female lead turned into a head case and the only way to make things better would be for her to no longer be with male lead have the maybe become outcast. Everyone else grew and became better people, she regressed to a tantruming child who is going to forcefully get her way.
I'm going to add a bit of spoilers, but not really as I haven't gotten very far. Male lead (sorry, I'm terrible with names) understands that females could be good with dragons, but also understands there's a line of people who already worked with dragons waiting to have a dragon that should receive precedent. However he finds a way for females to have a chance after, they just have to work hard for a year (like everyone else) and apprentice first which gives them a chance to thoroughly learn the ropes too. It's this good enough for female lead? No! She wants her female jousters now! So she undermines him, his position, his authority, and his willingness to compromise and goes to the queen who goes along with it! So our main lead is clearly not as respected as he seemed to be by the end of book 3 and the queen is also being fat more nonsensical and poor at political maneuvering than she was previously presented as being. Now male lead, who's already busy with the role he was forced to take on because no one else is willing and qualified, it's expected to somehow find time to go to the woman who disrespected him to continue their relationship. Nevermind she voluntarily gave up her free time without discussing with him how things were going to go and for the project that is undermining her authority!
In short I hate her now and am generally pissed and am returning this piece of trash of a book.
It seems like it was an attempt at a hoirah feminism, but instead it comes as the opposite. It comes at down with good relationship values, and fairness isn't right, women should get extra privileges. Ick. I'm so mad I'm debating reading any more by this author even though she's supposed to be one of the big names in fantasy.

5 stars for a riviting book
Revisado: 02-07-23
The character build up is fantastic and this story is so exhilarating I couldn't stop listening even through sleep deprivation. Heads up, the next one is just as powerful and fantastic. As a matter of fact this series is becoming so dear to me I may well add it to my very small list of retreads (currently its mostly full of Tamora Pierce). 5 starts for Joust! May Veg find his way through his challenges and prevail!

Historia
After surviving childhood at the snooty, stuck-up boarding school for budding omegas, I have everyone convinced I'm a dud. My awakening? Never gonna happen. Heat, mates, and a fairytale pack life? Maybe next reincarnation. All I want is to be left alone. I'm invisible, and headed to a blissful solo future until the Wyvern Pack destroys my dream of independence. But Atlas, Hunter, Finn, Jett, and Orion are poison candy. They don't want an omega, but they need one, even if there will never be a real spot for me in their pack.

Revisado: 01-13-23
Don't have to wait the many seconds for the purchase and download to happen. Man this one is very open relationship wise, but in a good way in my opinion. Also really great wrenching and twisting. It's like 2 steps forward and one step back with all the healing and character growth, but in a realistic way. It's really fantastic and I really love how well this story has been done.
Oh and the narrators are fantastic. I'll be looking to find more books with the male narrator specifically because talk about a voice that makes all the panties around become moist lol

Perfectly executed bodice ripper
Revisado: 01-11-23
I really enjoyed the romance plot and overall plot. I still want to kick Ransom's butt for being too pushy and not marrying her the first time, but the way things worked out it's that much sweeter for her. Also I am still not clear if he meant to ruin her honor by having people walk in or if it was happenstance. The statue misunderstanding was excellent and I am very happy that was a part of this whole story lol.

Revisado: 01-08-23
This author has been very solid. Sometimes authors waver in how well written a book is several books in. Not this author. If anything this book is better. The descriptions really make you feel what's going on and the character development makes you sad to see new friends go. I hope to see them again in future books.

Chad Johnson built his following by being a troll. Online games, social media, you name it—he's there with a witty comeback. But when he goes too far during a televised stream, he's handed a punishment unlike any other. Instead of the usual ban or suspension, Chad's sentenced to thirty days of full immersion therapy in Isle of Mythos—a world of epic fantasy filled with dungeons and mythical creatures. The twist? He's forced to embody a forest troll, one of the most-despised races in Mythos.

Revisado: 01-08-23
I really enjoyed this series. It's a really great twist and watching the character growth is very satisfying. By the end of this trilogy I became fully invested in the characters and was really left with a heated desire to know what their lives would lead to next. I'm really glad I came across this series after so many books had already been written because I don't have to suffer cliff hangers lol. Off to the next one. Oh the narration is fantastic too. Very well done.
