I loved how the author tied things together at the end, from his childhood tragedy.
The narrator did an excellent job with the different voices.
I get a kick out of his name since my last name is Mehegan.
Can’t wait to read the next one.

Fort bonne lecture d’une fort bonne traduction

Je me réjouis enfin de savoir que les francophones peuvent maintenant entendre les contes classiques de Narnia qui faisaient mes délices dans ma bien lointaine jeunesse. La traduction évoquait toute la charme, la profondeur et la magie de l’originel.

Second Best in the series so far.

The story line is so good. The ending is connecting with book 2. I’m from Sweden and it was cool to recognize streets and places in Stockholm. Good job trying to pronounce the street names :)

J’ai appris à lire dans les années soixante en lisant et relisant les histoires du monde de Narnia en anglais. Lewis tout autant que Tolkien est un des précurseurs du genre. Lewis, comme St Ex dans l’autre sens, offre des obstacles redoutables à la traduction. Cette traduction se laisse couler si facilement qu’on n’a jamais le sentiment d’artifice. Et la lecture de M. Nicolas Ullmann nous permet d’entrer librement dans le récit. Voici une œuvre réussie. Dans ce deuxième conte se trouve le secret du succès de Lewis: les quatre enfants, l’armoire magique…le Lion…et Narnia, qui restera à jamais dans l’imagination de l’enfant qui osera y entrer. Une fois roi ou reine en Narnia, toujours roi ou reine en Narnia.

Eerie presentation of 21st century reality in twentieth century terms.
