Historia
After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

Revisado: 04-10-25
There is a million cliff hangers in this story. I love the Dresden files!!
Harry is alive and well. At least he is as the story begins. From there it is a bit of a ride!

Historia
For some reason, when it comes to complex issues, we’ve largely limited ourselves to just two options, resulting in a society of non-thinkers. After all, once you’ve picked a side, all the thinking has already been done for you. As an independent, libertarian voter who has spent the last ten years at Fox News, Kat has faced this issue too many times to count. She’s learned that surprising things can happen when you refuse to choose a team, especially when you work at a place some people call an existential threat to America.

While there are plenty one could argue about in this book, the underlying motivation for the text is solid.
Stay curious. The other side cannot possibly be wrong about everything!
Great job by the author. It seems like there is a lot to learn.

Historia
In 1976, the body of Anna Mae Aquash, an American Indian luminary, was found frozen in the Badlands of South Dakota—or so the FBI said. After a suspicious autopsy and a rushed burial, friends had Aquash exhumed and found a .32-caliber bullet in her skull. Using this scandal as a point of departure, The Unquiet Grave opens a tunnel into the dark side of the FBI and its subversion of American Indian activists. But the book also discovers things the Indians would prefer to keep buried. What unfolds is a sinuous tale of conspiracy, murder, and cover-up.

Even if half is true
Revisado: 10-29-24
This story should make you mad. While every group seems to want to claim victim status, these people (not the FBI) have truly been destroyed and continue to self-destruct too often.

Excellent Information
Revisado: 10-17-24
This was a good book. I feel like these things will help me understand what motivates Tyrus and what informs his opinions.
Tyrus, If you are reading this, you are going to want to punch me in the kidney. You have got to hire a narrator. This is the first audio book I have ever wanted to finish in hard copy. There is a lot of distraction for the listener when words get jumbled.
I won't say this gave me more respect for Tyrus, but I will say that it affirmed for me that he has a valuable contribution to make to the world, and to political discussions. He is at his core a hard worker. He has earned everything he has.

This was very different...
Revisado: 09-25-24
Not a bad book. There was not much to it though. When it says a novel of sex and violence, it means that with nothing much in between. This will sound like a dumb criticism, but what I liked least was the constant use of coincidence.
There was no better way to tell this story. it just was not that great of a story. Lawrence Block is a great writer, but this is the bad one I will ignore so he can keep his good score.

Before you read this book consider reading only a summary. If you want more you need to work harder.
There is nothing groundbreaking or insightful. The approach seems to be, throw more at the wall and more will stick.
