The town of Franklin Falls is having its 100th birthday. And that means the town’s historic time capsule is about to be dug up and put on display by the proud citizens. Yeah, well, not if the crooked mayor has his way. Good thing all-around smart kid Leon Karakostas is one step ahead of him. Leon and his twin sister, Noel, and his crew - Pixie, Microscope, and Aardvark - find themselves in a mad dash to the dump, on a rooftop chase, and caught up in a showdown with a mysterious grandma.

Bringing a Book to Life
Revisado: 01-09-25
As an adult, I bought this book to decide if my 10-year-old nephew would enjoy it. He does not like to read at all, so I thought maybe an audiobook could get him interested. The first time I listened to the story I listened for nearly four hours straight. The voice of the characters definitely bring the book to life and would help make it an exciting listen for a young person. The only challenge, was that the voices of at least two of the girls sounded very similar, so it wasn’t always easy to tell which one was talking. Overall, I highly recommend this audiobook. It was an enjoyable listen.

Historia
Through a chance encounter at a local bookstore, Andy is reunited with the man who changed everything for him – Jones, also known as “The Noticer.” As the story unfolds, Jones uses his unique talent of noticing little things that make a big difference. And these “little things” grant the people of Fairhope, Alabama, a life-changing gift - perspective. Along the way, families will be united, financial opportunities will be created, and readers will be left with powerfully simple solutions to the everyday problems we all face.

The Beauty of Daily Life
Revisado: 09-09-24
Andy Andrews has a way of making “normal” things very entertaining. Both The Noticer, and The Noticer Returns, have kept me listening intently. Because each book is so good, I have been disappointed when each book ends, and immediately seek out the next book in the series. I have also gifted these books to several people. They are just good reads about the beauty in life, if only we will look for it, or create it.

Historia
A miracle disguised as a tragedy (a daughter's traumatic brain injury) became the birthplace of a successful God-centered, residential, entrepreneurial community designed to truly enhance the lives of adults with special needs. Out of this "tragedy" came a new life for this population utilizing effective vocational, emotional, spiritual, and educational methods which provided opportunities to help them find meaning and purpose in their lives through practical education in tandem with life.

Everyone is Famous for Something
Revisado: 06-30-24
As a teacher, I feel like this book should be required reading for anyone entering the education profession. The journey that the mom of a special needs child travels in order to insure her child has a meaningful learning experience, work experience, and more importantly, a meaningful life experience is remarkable. Within the first several pages of the book, all I have been able to think about is how every community, and every special needs person, could benefit from a place like Briarwood. Such a beautiful story, and the author lending her own voice, makes it even better.

Worth Every Moment
Revisado: 06-29-23
Although I had previously heard of 90 Minutes in Heaven, I didn’t know the whole story. While the story alone is great, having it read by Don Piper, the man whom the book is about, made it even better. It is very easy to listen to Don’s voice, he has great inflection, and it is obvious he is invested in the story, not just reading words on a page. Because there is not a single inappropriate section in this book, people of any age can listen. It is most suitable for ages eight and up though as far as comprehension.
