Historia
There was a time during Donald Davis's college freshman year when he wasn't really sure if he wanted to claim his hometown of Sulpher Springs, North Carolina. But a boy by the name of Stanley Easter changed his mind. "The year after that," he recalls, "I did go home from college for Thanksgiving. In fact, I had now become so proud of where I was from that I could hardly wait to get home. I no longer had to lie about where I was from. The world of childhood was quickly becoming a dear place to visit."

Historia
Jodi Picoult delivers the riveting tale of one small town's entanglement with high-school violence.
New York Superior Court Judge Alex Cormier is assigned to preside over the case of the alleged Sterling High School shooter. Lawyer Jordan McAffee represents Peter, the boy who, on the day of the shooting, was found in the corner of the gymnasium holding a gun to his head with a shaky hand. Detective Patrick DuCharme has one star witness, but her story keeps changing. And then there's the biggest problem of all: the star witness happens to be Judge Cormier's daughter.

Almost gave up a couple of times
Revisado: 10-28-11
Gosh the author gets preachy in this book. Sometimes it sounded like an overly simplistic demand for gun control. I got disgusted with that. And Peter's poor parents. Did the author really have to draw them with already one tragedy on their hands with the other son before Peter jumps the rails. Their lives end up as dust. Again overly preachy. And she beats the subject of bullying absolutely to death. Good surprise ending though.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-14-11
This story was so implausible it was really hard to listen til the end. The reading of it was fine. It's just that where the authors take their characters is so darn unbelievable as to make you start laughing in disbelief at the plot fairly early on in the book. Others of Mr. Patterson's books are so much better written. I'm actually sorry I wasted points on this one.

I really enjoyed this!
Revisado: 05-05-11
Narrator was excellent! And I loved picking up Lindsey Boxer's life and story again. Thoroughly enjoyed the way the 4 friends stories picked up as though we hadn't had a lapse since the last book ~ which we have! Wish this author would stop messing with other stuff and keep writing for these characters! I don't think there was a false note here and I greatly enjoyed the book.
