Revisado: 03-23-23
Right from the start was so hard to stop listening. Many times listening to many parts over as not to miss one word. So well performed. characters and grammar matched the time frame so well. it also shows the depth of Chicago crime rings and gang activity crosses all walks of life can make for exploding bedfellows.

I loved it from the start. I grew up on Stories from my grandparents and great grandparents about settling in Oklahoma Indian Territory. This made me feel that connection and memory of sitting cross legs wanting more everytime. A time when we think is so simple and slow yet a whirlwind can blow it up in a heartbeat. The grammar was perfect for this story. Words and sounds so familiar to me. It was just a beautiful book.

Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

a lot of people would possibly find this long story slow and boring. This book is amazing and so well done. When we think about a drug addiction we think all drugs are the and anyone can quit if they really want to. This book tells a different story about a different drug. Opioids are a class of drugs so different than any other drug and most addictions to it started by a doctors prescription. This book could be set anywhere today, any social class any race. I just have to end with This. I laughed, I cried, I felt despair and joy. I thought back about the drugs and kids of my youth in the 70's and the years my kids were growing up in our opioid crisis. What people don't understand is there is no cure for this addiction. The only way is to stay in that program. This book just means so much to a parent of a recovering opioid addict. 11 years clean and sticking to her program. Thank you for the way you presented this story.

When Amethyst Faye was six years old, she was almost stolen by a monster in the woods on the same night her mother mysteriously disappeared. Ten years, a half-dozen psychiatrists, and a slew of diagnoses haven’t made things any better; she is still plagued by nightmares, ridiculed at school, and misunderstood by everyone from her teachers to her counselor to her father. such a good blend of characters and story line. Makes me sit back and remember my grandma telling me stories about Oklahoma in the 1890's. some were very colorful indeed. The voice behind this book makes you just fall into the author's world.

Historia
Set on the Minnesota prairies in 1987, during a drought season that is fostering the demise of the family farms, the story features two intertwining narrators: a father searching for answers after his son commits a heinous murder, and a pastor's wife who has returned to the town for mysterious reasons of her own. A penetrating look at small-town America, reminiscent of Russell Banks' Sweet Hereafter or Affliction, driven by a powerful murder mystery, Little Wolves is a literary triumph.

The slow smooth voice through out the book still brought the deep emotions of each character. you really had to listen to connect all the details going on with the wolf story. a never suspected ending on with brother wad outside that night. the strong outspoken one of the slightly withdrawn.

almost pure romance
Revisado: 04-14-22
I enjoyed the performance of the book and the story idea was good. it just seemed like there was to much given to just the love story side. I mean really we had royal faeries and powerful witches along with humans so much more could have happened on their quest. instead we mainly all we got was their relationship and sex. I will still read the series.

I loved how this book told about a part of our history that so many of us knew nothing about. What trail blazer she was on so many ways. Her love stories are both joyous and tragic. When we read historical fiction it sparks us sometimes dig deeper into it and also learn about the humanity of time.
