Historia
In 2007, David Goldhill’s father died from infections acquired in a hospital - one of more than two hundred thousand avoidable deaths per year caused by medical error. The bill was enormous - and Medicare paid it. These circumstances left Goldhill angry and determined to understand how world-class technology and personnel could coexist with such carelessness - and how a business that failed so miserably could be paid in full.

Very infuriating
Revisado: 05-19-18
Loved this book and the way it managed to be so relatable. Easy to read/listen to. Excellent points made, solutions posited are a little optimistic, and given how human nature is it doesn't sound very realistic, but kudos to the author.

Historia
In Me, Myself, and Us, Brian Little, Ph.D., one of the psychologists who helped re-shape the field, provides the first in-depth exploration of the new personality science and its provocative findings for general readers. The audiobook explores questions that are rooted in the origins of human consciousness but are as commonplace as yesterday's breakfast conversation. Are our first impressions of other people's personalities usually fallacious?

Good insights, not good reader
Revisado: 02-21-18
Little provides very good insights, however the audio book format suffers because of the narrator. Probably only me though, but I couldn't get over the voice

Historia
In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

Read by Hitchens himself
Revisado: 01-03-18
Just the fact that Mr. Hitchens himself is reading his own work to you makes this a pleasure to listen to. He is missed. Excellent book which makes one look around and realize the text is very relevant to current events.

Historia
Man’s Search for Meaning is the chilling yet inspirational story of Viktor Frankl’s struggle to hold on to hope during the unspeakable horrors of his years as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.

Historia
At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society.

Very thought invoking
Revisado: 05-02-17
The authors point is very well displayed and thought out. I hope it gives educators a new pair of eyes to appreciate different temperaments in children in classrooms. There is nothing wrong with accepting who you are and enjoying different things from life, and learning that if you prefer not to be the life of the party you are just as appreciated by others.
