Loved the Lords… but the Dukes are way too rapey!

Narration: always love Troy Duran. The female narrator is a bit annoying sounding and does terrible male voices.

Story: I’m surprised there were so many 5-star reviews. I’m at 30 hours and all I’ve been getting is continual rape and emotional cruelty. The Lords were a bit cringey rapey, but it wasn’t endless misery and clear abuse.

The plot itself is anticlimactic. She just keeps taking the abuse and there’s no character development. Remy wasn’t as bad, you got some sort of story and while his actions were horrendous, he was the only one that actually showed true emotion.

I'm waiting for the typical dark romance to turn enemies into lovers… and even if it does get there, I don’t think I can achieve any sympathy from a book about rape. Yes, I know it’s fiction, and I often read dark romances, but there’s not much more than depravity here.

I haven’t even finished this book yet. I love it! I read all of her books. I was confused at first, felt like it was the second book of a series. But as it unfolded I was blown away. Great narrators as always.

Wow. Just wow.

I have read every single ja Huss book (or so I thought). I just read through her last one…but the next one of the series isn’t out yet.
These books are all related and complex. So I googled what order to read them. Went back to the start, rook and ronin. Ford was the next and it was already in my library. Started listening but I don’t remember any of it.
I’ve loved it, it feels different (as rook and ronin) / less conspiracy and webs. However, I’m towards the end and I’m crying. Thus book is emotional! Not like the typical ones, which I love all of them. But this one feels so emotional. Maybe I’m just in a sappy mood. This isn’t as steamy as later (in the progression - not necessarily actual release date) books, and doesnt get into the company stuff, but it’s great. Although I am wishing to know about Sasha since Ford had such a reaction to her, but I know she’ll come up in later books.
I’m so glad I started over with her books. I can’t to proceed. Narrator is one of my favorites. Without the heroine POV I didn’t think it would be this deep. But I feel it all. I love it.
Anyways. Great book. Perfect narrator. Great author.

Boring :(

The premise was interesting, it’s difficult to find RH books with a good story line. I had a hard time finishing this book because I just couldn’t connect with the characters. I can’t even remember the females name… there was no depth. The way it went from 0 to sexy times was weird. I don’t get how they all got so serious. Plus, they all sounded like college students.
Female narrator was good. Male narrator didn’t match any of what you’d think the 3 guys would sound like, like an old guy trying to act like a young guy whose supposed to be an older young guy… :-|

Haven’t finished this yet. But after listening to the previous 4 books, I can’t understand why he talks like a robot for Hunt. It’s so distracting.

Short and boring...

Nothing exciting happened. I feel like it went from introductions to full blown madly cheesy in love. Title doesn’t match the story at all. Alexander Cendese does a terrible female voice.
CJ is always a good narrator.

Boring - Didn’t Finish

Didn’t finish. The story was lacking. There was no character depth. Even if it was meant to be only erotica I still didn’t find it sexy.
Also, it needed dual narrators. It might have been better if you knew which character was even talking.

Couldn’t Wait for it to Be Over

The characters had no depth. It was scattered and ridiculously long. Female narrator does terrible male voice, they always sound depressed.
Just nothing to connect to in this book.

Terrible Narration

I enjoyed the first one but this one is cringeworthy because of the narration. Male is way too dramatic. Female does terrible male voices and other voices.

I’ve restarted this several times and can not connect with the characters. :(
