How can you possibly love a book more when you already think it is wonderful? Listen to it as an audiobook! Hearing the story read aloud and the characters portrayed with a British accent truly made me feel as if I was actually a part of the story.

As I listened I could hear Myles's physical and emotional struggles he had after the war. I could visualize him wondering if he would ever be worthy and capable of love. Philippa’s quiet, caring nature, determination, and concern for Myles was evident as she helped him to heal the” fissures of heart and soul”.

Philippa’s brother, mother, and thwarted would-be suitor were just as nasty as they were in the book. I found myself getting just a bit too anxious in their treatment of Philippa, even though I already knew what was going to happen. Bravo to Ms. Britton for an excellent, touching story and the narrator bringing this book to life! I will enjoy listening to this again and again.

I was given a review copy of the audiobook and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Heather Smith was looking for a new beginning and was lead to the small southern town of Harland Creek through a newspaper advertisement. It was providential that she became the caretaker for elderly Elizabeth Harland as she recuperates from surgery. Right away we see the wisdom of Elizabeth and her kindness toward Heather as she recognizes that she needs a home and a job and someone to care about her.

The setting of a flower farm was so unique and gave me a sense of peace as I can imagine walking through fields of bright hues and fragrance. Heather began to take on more duties at the farm and works with the handsome Grayson McCade, who is the farmer next door. I loved seeing Elizabeth doing some matchmaking as she contrives opportunities for the couple to spend time alone doing things for the farm. She saw that both would be good for each other and love could be theirs if they could trust each other and open their hearts.

As I listened, time flew by as the story unfolded. E.L. Beckett's performance added richness to the story as she portrayed each of the the characters. The pacing was perfect and tone matched that of the story that gave it depth.

This is book one in the Harland Creek series and can be read as a standalone, but there are several other townspeople who I found endearing. I am looking forward to reading about them and returning to Harland Creek. Promise kept reminded me of authors like Jan Karon and Philip Gulley. I recommend reading this uplifting, clean romance of second chances. Once you read this book you will want to read the next one right away.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio version. The narrator brings the characters to life and makes you feel as though you are watching the story on your big screen TV. I especially like Evelyn and Aunt Em’s portrayal and feel this is how I “hear” them when I read.

Thank you to the author for an audio copy of the book. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Abigail Martin was looking for a miracle by traveling back in time, too bad it was 1773 and her high school crush was dragged along with her. Evan Blake’s reaction is priceless as he has no idea they have time traveled. Why are they in costumes? Where is a phone so he can call for help?

As Abigail and Evan encounter Colonial social norms and their consequences, they must trust each other. I thought using these experiences was a terrific way of helping each of them to break down the walls of past hurts they had built.

Bryn Austin’s reading of the story brought the book to life. I found myself laughing throughout the story as she portrayed Abigail and Evan so well.

If you like historical and/or Christian fiction, you will enjoy this story. Thank you to the author/ publisher for being able to listen to this production. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

The artful weaving of character and plot make this a great story. Listen to this 2nd book on the series if you enjoy historical fiction.

I enjoyed the portrayal of the spirited and feisty Mrs. Smith. Ms. Austin nailed this powerful matriarch’s character.

Thank you to the author for a copy of this recording. I was not required to write a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This exciting story is the first in The Accidental Spy trilogy. You will want to listen to this first since it foundational and is a cliffhanger for the second book, A Dangerous Performance.

Annabelle Ross is just the kind of young lady who finds the courage to stand up to her conniving and greedy step grandfather who wants her ancestral home. However, her decision is not without consequences as she leaves the plantation to find help. Her willingness to face dangerous men and secret plots brings this story to life.

Accompanying Annabelle is Peggy, her maid who is sassy and yet sensible in guiding Annabelle. She is funny and spirited and I look forward to hearing what else she will do to help her mistress. Bryn Austin’s performance of Peggy was well done and made me laugh at her reactions in various situations.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a code to listen to this book. I am not required to write this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
