Historia
When mystery author D. B. Ziegler is late delivering her book, Abi Schore steps in to help. Surely she can give her favorite author moral support over the holiday break and get the manuscript to her boss at Tea & Sympathy Publishing in time for the new year. When Abi shows up on Ms. Ziegler’s doorstep bearing holiday treats, she’s met by the author’s handsome grandson Dov, who reveals a startling plot twist. His grandmother isn’t able to finish the book and Dov promised he’d complete it so fans won’t be disappointed—a task that’s harder than he ever imagined.

Enjoyed the search
Revisado: 12-11-24
I really enjoyed the search for the missing book, the premise was really interesting but the delivery just wasn’t right. The romance was also flat.

Historia
When Delilah Marlow visits a famous traveling carnival, Metzger's Menagerie, she is an ordinary woman in a not-quite-ordinary world. But under the macabre circus black-top, she discovers a fierce, sharp-clawed creature lurking just beneath her human veneer. Captured and put on exhibition, Delilah is stripped of her worldly possessions, including her own name, as she's forced to "perform" in town after town. But there is breathtaking beauty behind the seamy and grotesque reality of the carnival.

I really enjoyed this one. If you liked Water for elephants or The night circus, you’ll enjoy this one too! I can’t wait to read book 2 now and I don’t know why it took me so long to read this one!

This was all over the place
Revisado: 12-29-22
Too many plot twists, too much back and forth, way too unbelievable. I was over it about halfway in, but I bought it years ago and have been determined to finish all of the audios I own. But man, this one was rough. I didn’t like any of the characters, the sex scenes were awful… the only thing I liked was the narration. Sorry to the author!

There are really no words to do this author justice. I started with her first book Roses and I've been her biggest fan since. Just read it. And all of her other titles. You won't be disappointed. Something for everyone!

Wish she wrote more often!!
Revisado: 01-24-15
The first book I listened to by Nancy Pickard was, "The scent of rain and lightning." It's still by far my favorite, but this one did not disappoint! She is a great storyteller and I only wish she'd write more!
