Appalling narration
Revisado: 12-16-16
The narrator sounded like a text to speech program or robot. It gave a very uncaring or cold feel to the book.
That being said and out of the way. I do not recommend the auditory listening this book if you have never researched anything else about lupus. It initially caused me to worry and then it began to instill an undertone of worthlessness or hopelessness. Ouch, right? You may think this review is a little harsh however, that is the mind-state that the book put Me In. And listening to the sample does it no justice.

Historia
If It Doesn't Go Away, Come Back is a collection of short, autobiographical stories about a woman living with systemic lupus erythematosus. Through well-crafted prose, Neva Cavataio delivers funny, hopeful, unflinching, and realistic snapshots of living with an on-going illness. From on-the-job dog bites and lupus flares to wig store salespeople and marshmallow Peeps, each story offers a unique perspective into the life of a person who has, with humble honesty and redemptive humor, learned to live life for the moment.

eye-opener; hold the medical jargon.
Revisado: 12-13-16
The narrator was excellent with the rise and fall of her voice and inflection where needed.
If you are close enough to ask what they're going through but don't know how, this would be a good read for you. She breaks it down how it came out of nowhere, how she feels internally (mentally and physically) and how that makes her project externally (socially.) And ways to get through some of the good days and bad days.
The author jumps right into the meat and potatoes with little background which is good in a sort of way, I'm here for the disease, not her FULL life story (sorry to say.)
