Good story that ends in cliffhanger

The only problem I have with this book is that it ends in a cliffhanger - the murder in the story is resolved but the personal problems in the story are left hanging with no resolution. I am glad this was a book of the day and did not cost much, because I do not like books that do not resolve in one book, with no warning that they are to be continued.

Enjoyed the story but had a problem

This was an enjoyable story but I had a major problem with the pronunciation of the county just north of San Francisco in California, Marin I lived there and always heard it pronounced merin ( /məˈrɪn/) in the story it was always pronounced MArin. Nothing ruins a story faster than having words (or places) mispronounced.

Interesting story

This book is probably why I have had the love affair with Hawaii that I have had. I read it first when I was in high school, and just recently listened to the audio version. Love the story, but there are a lot of characters to keep straight.

Conflict of Feelings

What do you do when you find out that the mother you love and adore told you a lie all her life? How do you reconcile what you now know about her with the loving, caring person you thought she was? This is the conflict that faces Lina Cornaro as she as expanding the lingerie line she developed and learns of her mothers scandalous past with the future King of Sarcaccia. She is one of the King's three illegitimate children with his tutor. She also must resolve her relationship with Ivo, an internationally famous F1 driver, her long time lover. As the king told her, he hopes that she will be loved for herself and be one man's Princess rather than loved for her connections to him.

This is the sixth book about his nine children and I am looking forward to learning more about the other children as well. Minor characters from other stories make cameo appearances (head of security, Palace carpenter, Gellato shop owner)

I've enjoyed all these stories by the same narrator. I enjoy catching up on the family and seeing what is currently happening

Prince Alessandro Barrali figuring out what to do with his life when he is the spare heir and cannot do what he found he enjoyed

This story follows Prince Alessandro Barrali as he transitions from a playboy to a valuable contributing citizen of the world. It was also interesting to watch Frannie learn that there is more to life than following all the rules.

Enjoyed this latest entry into the Royal Scandals series. This one is about the illegitimate son of the king of a small Mediterranean island country. If his existence becomes known, it could destabilize the country. He is also a medical doctor and device manufacturer which plays into the first part of the story. He needs to protect his estranged wife from potential kidnappers and ends up needing the King's assistance. You learn more about the other siblings. I look forward to finding out more about the rest of the family.

How to be private when you are a public figure

Would you consider the audio edition of Slow Tango with a Prince to be better than the print version?

They are both very good - I enjoyed reading the book and also enjoyed listening to the audio version - the voices helped to identify the different characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Emily Sinclair - and how she worked to put others before herself, even at the cost to herself.

What does Hollis McCarthy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She provided a variety of voices

I enjoyed the story about a prince who has to deal with a devastating private sorrow while leading a public life. How does he know if people are with him because of his public figure or himself. It was also enjoyable to get a look at the previous characters and see the different weddings that were happening.

Honeymoon for one?

What did you love best about Honeymoon with a Prince?
I have enjoyed learning more about the Baralli family and how they deal with life. This is the second book in the series. There are hints of future things to find out about.

What did you like best about this story?
Meeting Gaspare (the protection dog) and his love for water. Also, seeing a strong female character who can stand up for herself and do what she wants

Have you listened to any of Hollis McCarthy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to others of this series. She is consistent in her accents with the various characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It did make we laugh about the dog's exploits.

The story is about finding love in unexpected places and standing up for yourself.

Great Start to a Series

What did you love best about Scandal With a Prince?
It was good to meet the first members of the Royal Family from Sarcacia. The story revolves around controlling parents learning how to give up some of that to their royal children and learning about the consequences of their actions

I liked getting to know the main characters

I liked that she had great voices for all ages and sexes showing up in the story.

When Anna ended up in the hospital

The story was a great way to learn about the chances of a second chance at love, especially when one of the couple lives in the spotlight.

Would you listen to A Royal Scandals Christmas again? Why?

I enjoy listening to the narrator's voice. I also enjoy the various stories. I'm involved in the characters.

What did you like best about this story?

These three follow three sets of supporting characters from the main stories around three different Christmas periods as they all have a second chance at love. There are three different reasons the pairs split the first time, and it gives a great way to solve problems.

Have you listened to any of Hollis McCarthy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She has a similar accent for all the characters from the same areas in the series. It makes it easy to tell them apart.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not sure, as I am not good at converting

Any additional comments?

Loved the various stories and getting some background information about some of the supporting cast to the Barrali royal family.
