High-Larry-ous
Revisado: 05-24-16
Somebody tell me why Adam Baldwin isn't spending all of his time narrating audiobooks. I had no idea he was so good at this. Wait to you find out who the secretary of defense is on the first earth. You will listen to Adam narrating him thinking that can't be but it is. The story from Larry Correia is hilarious, and I have no idea how Adam Baldwin managed to keep a straight face long enough to narrated without collapsing into hysterical laughter in the middle of telling the story. But somehow he does and it is amazing. Please tell me that the two of them plan on taking this show on the road. They could do arena shows with this. They could make millions.

Great story, great narration... Oh, great, now I've got to buy the other two books
Revisado: 12-09-15
By turns the lead character needs a hug and a good spanking. Except she's an adult and should be all grown up by now. But her crappy upbringing didn't teach her how to be one. Yet she soldiers on, quite bravely in fact. Her fiancé deserves a medal. And a spanking of his own. He's going to get the girl. He's even going to deserve the girl. But is he going to appreciate her? And is she ever going to realize that she's got her nose just as far cocked in the air as the rest of the people in her world?
With all of that going on, where did Emma find the space to have so much action and adventure going on? And such interesting and quirky and familiar characters? And how did she make it seem so easily accessible no matter how weird it got? So many authors would have lost me 10 chapters back, but not Emma. A soul, trapped in a walking gargoyle statue because the soul jar was destroyed? Makes total sense. At least as Emma presents it.
Look, why are you still reading this review? Click ""Buy" and start listening to Emma Newman read you her story. And don't worry about it being "read by the author." If there's one thing Emma does better than write, it's narrate audiobooks.

The mantis cyborgs: insectlike, cruel, and determined to wipe humanity from the face of the galaxy. The Fleet is humanity’s last chance: a multi-world, multi-national task force assembled to hold the line against the aliens’ overwhelming technology and firepower. Enter Harrison Barlow, who like so many young men of wars past, simply wants to serve his people and partake of the grand adventure of military life. Only, Harrison is not a hot pilot, nor a crack shot with a rifle.

A lifeline during a TERRIBLE week for me
Revisado: 11-07-15
Any additional comments?
I spent WAY too many hours in the car during the week that I listened to this book. I ran out of podcasts and was on a new medication. My brain was going Etch-a-Sketch, and I had the proverbial "miles to go before I sleep." George Newbern and Brad Torgerson kept me engaged and aware and interested all the way to my destination for several days. The story was fascinating, the performance was engaging, and the characters interesting. Get the Kindle book. Buy the audio book to go with it.
