Beyond unbelievable
Revisado: 04-20-25
This is the worst emp book I have come across. Halfway through all this far fetched nonsense I quit!
The characters are annoying, tedious and boring.
Then there is the narrator who puts on this whining voice for several of the characters!

Historia
Henry never realized he was special. Sure, he’s an engineer who served his country, but when the virus hit, he found himself alone in a nearly empty world. That’s the key, though: nearly empty. There’s no one left who has the technical know-how to make the world run again...except for Henry. For humanity to survive, he will have to rebuild society out of the motley crew of survivors. It might be impossible, but at the same time, Henry has always loved a challenge.

Unsatisfied with the ending!
Revisado: 01-21-25
I stuck with this long winded, tedious, repetitive and rather far fetched story only to find the author couldn’t be bothered to write a satisfying ending. Not an author whose work I would listen to again!

unexpected ending
Revisado: 12-25-24
I liked the story for the most part and listened to all 3 books.
It got to be a little long winded with all the repetitions and I was wishing for it to end.
Emma and her ever whining and crying daughter were my least favorites.

Historia
Lark Smith has always had a plan for her life: find a fantastic guy, create a marriage as blissful as her parents’, pop out a couple of kids, and build a rewarding career as an oncologist. Things aren’t going so well. For one, the guy didn’t work out. Theoretically, she’d love to find someone else, but it hasn’t happened. Two, she’s just been transferred out of Oncology for being too emotional. (Is it her fault she’s a weeper?) Three, her parents just split up. Deviating from the plan was … well, not in the plan. A potential solution comes from the foul-tempered surgeon Lorenzo Santini.

One bad choice of narrator
Revisado: 10-04-24
I got very frustrated with the narrator for Lark.
She talks too fast in her gravely voice, mumbles, then uses this up and down sing song speech. I constantly had to strain to try to understand what she was saying. Very annoying reader! She just about ruined the book for me! Too bad she is narrating many of this authors’ books which I won’t be listening to.

Too drawn out
Revisado: 12-30-23
Too much philosophizing, too tedious and drawn out. Overall I liked the story but couldn’t wait for it to end with its slow as molasses pace. The excellent narrator kept me listening til the end.
But I’m not interested in any more books from this author.
