Historia
Several years have passed since the apprentice and his master, Will and Halt, first met, and Will is finally a full-fledged Ranger with his own fief to look after. The fief seems sleepy - boring, even - until Lord Syron, master of a castle far in the north, is struck down by a mysterious illness. Joined by his friend Alyss, Will is suddenly thrown headfirst into an extraordinary adventure, investigating fears of sorcery and trying to determine who is loyal to Lord Syron.

Terrible and odd narrator
Revisado: 12-19-20
We love John Flanagan and have listened to the first 4 books. The narrator, Mr Blinder, pretty much ruined the story. All of the characters have whiny and irritating voices. It’s so hard to love main characters because their voices are now so lame. Please get the old narrator back or any other narrators might still be better!

It's been two years since Peter Nimble and Sir Tode rescued the kingdom of HazelPort. In that time, they have traveled far and wide in search of adventure. Now they have been summoned by Professor Cake for a new mission: To find a 12-year-old bookmender named Sophie Quire. Sophie knows little beyond the four walls of her father's bookshop, where she repairs old books and dreams of escaping the confines of her dull life.

Loved the reader
Revisado: 01-07-20
I would listen to this book every time, because the reader is so intriguing. He does different and very fun voices for the characters. The story was not quite as good as Peter Nimble and the Fantastic Eyes, but was entertaining.

Not for kids
Revisado: 01-07-20
This book has a lot of bad language. While some may say, "Oh, they hear this at school all the time," why would I encourage bad language? I remember the story being interesting, but I just had gotten this to listen to with my kids and was disappointed, we turned it off. Wish I could get a refund.

Historia
Nothing "goes viral". If you think a popular movie, song, or app came out of nowhere to become a word-of-mouth success in today's crowded media environment, you're missing the real story. Each blockbuster has a secret history - of power, influence, dark broadcasters, and passionate cults that turn some new products into cultural phenomena. In his groundbreaking investigation, Atlantic senior editor Derek Thompson uncovers the hidden psychology of why we like what we like.

Really enjoyed learning the insights of what makes things popular and how do they go “viral.” Great stories he tells and Derek does a wonderful job of reading his work. I own the book too and his reading adds to the learning!

“When the odds were stacked against us - and there have been many times when the great experiment we call America could have and should have failed - did God intervene to save us?” That question, posed by authors Chris and Ted Stewart, is the foundation for this remarkable book. And the examples they cite provide compelling evidence that the hand of Providence has indeed preserved the United States of America on multiple occasions.

Message every American needs
Revisado: 12-28-15
Every American needs to know this. I have always believed that God's hand has been in the formation and deliverance of this nation. I hope to secure this for my children. To do that, more need to understand these truths and recognize God's hand in our preservation.

Enlightening
Revisado: 11-04-15
I really enjoyed hearing some great things about an important Founding Father. I would have loved to hear more. More about experiences with the Revolution, experiments, role as an ambassador, patriot, etc. He gives just enough to make you more interested. I recommend reading autobiographies first before you read all the trash that has been written about the person in the last 10 years. I recommend the same with this.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Beautifully metaphorical
Revisado: 08-25-15
Would you listen to The Boys in the Boat again? Why?
I knew nothing of rowing and had no interest, but the story is compelling. More than that it is written in such a way that is poetic. This poetic nature really allowed me to make connections and use as a metaphor to many other aspects of my life. One example is the connection of rowing to a family and the unity they must have to be successful. I loved this book.
