Historia
Since the creation of the Federal Reserve more than one hundred years ago, the American dollar has become the most successful product (of any kind) of all time and the language of commerce for the planet. From the Gold Reserve Act to Bretton Woods to the petrodollar and beyond, the U.S. has successfully ridden the waves of historical transformation to stay on top.

Ok if you want to start your own fund, that's about it.
Revisado: 01-18-24
It is well read, and the author has a great story. Other than that, the title is misleading.
The subtitle should be the whole title, except there's not a good plan for "how to make money from it" other than starting your own fund. He uses a key example of raising/loaning $75, 000,000-100,000,000... Not exactly in the realm of most people's network.
Other than a theory about how the fed might manipulate the price of Bitcoin, there's nothing else about bitcoin or how to make money from it, same for gold.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Riveting, but will be too "produced" for some
Revisado: 06-07-23
A great story and I found the performance captivating. But it was just that, a performance. Reviews that comment on it being distracting or just too much are valid. It would be nice to have an option for a more traditional reading. Sometimes voices or accents do seem to change which can really throw you off. All in all, a unique experience and a tremendous book.

Great material, dry narration
Revisado: 04-20-23
The historical background, breakdown/explanation of information, and detailed insight to American events was excellent. Really enlightening information on some of the nuances that affected historical events and great translation of how they can viewed and might impact current events. Narration was a bit dry and academic.

Historia
In an era in which many Christians consider Jesus a beloved but remote savior, Willard argues compellingly for the relevance of God to every aspect of our existence. Masterfully capturing the central insights of Christ's teachings in a fresh way for today's seekers, he helps us to explore a revolutionary way to experience God by knowing him as an essential part of the here and now, rather than only as part of the hereafter.

This bok is very academic. I went into it casually, expecting to get some info and maybe challenge myself a little. I had to reset my mindset to really dive in, as this is pretty academic, and it challenged me more than I expected. Great read, and I'm interested in doing a full study of this material.

Most history is hierarchical: it's about emperors, presidents, prime ministers, and field marshals. It's about states, armies, and corporations. It's about orders from on high. Even history "from below" is often about trade unions and workers' parties. But what if that's simply because hierarchical institutions create the archives that historians rely on? What if we are missing the informal, less well documented social networks that are the true sources of power and drivers of change?

I wasn't a big fan of the narrator, but this was a fantastic book. Really opened my eyes to a new way of looking at the history of the world and how we got to where we are... and where we may go.

Great follow up top RP1
Revisado: 01-26-21
I really enjoyed this sequel and thought Kline did a great job diving into some of the challenges the characters would have faced. From dealing with new fortune to how relationships are forced to change. Some of the details were thrown together more so than the first book. I thought the emphasis on Prince was a little forced for the general characters of the storyline. And talking about the Prince section of the book, can someone tell Kline that no Corvette has ever had a back seat? Pretty hard for Shoto to jump in the back seat of a Vette... makes me wonder how many errors there are that I just didn't catch. Still, a great book with a lot of nostalgic detail, and an excellent narrator to go with.

The culture of “safety” and its intolerance of opposing viewpoints has left many young people anxious and unprepared for adult life. Lukianoff and Haidt offer a comprehensive set of reforms that will strengthen young people and institutions, allowing us all to reap the benefits of diversity, including viewpoint diversity. This is a book for anyone who is confused by what’s happening on college campuses today, or has children, or is concerned about the growing inability of Americans to live and work and cooperate across party lines.

EVERYONE should have this info
Revisado: 04-26-19
I will listen to this book multiple times, without question. At times, the narrator (author) was a little slow, but given the nature of the material it was not distracting, and I always like when the author narrates their own material.
This book has critical information that everyone should be aware of, take to heart, and act upon. I have children in elementary school and am truly thankful to come across this book before my kids are any older. I've felt concern over Safety-ism for some time, but wasn't sure if it was just me, or if my thoughts were misguided. This book cleared up where my thoughts were right, and wrong, and have excellent guidance on actions to take immediately. The material has also given me confidence on how to approach others, and it has given me a desire to spread this philosophy in my community!
Thank you, Jonathan and Greg!

Excellent story that really draws you in!
Revisado: 03-30-18
I was born in the mid-80's and this book hit so many great memories from childhood. Excellent descriptions, detail and story telling. I usually only listen in the car on my commute, but this is one of the few books that I couldn't stop with, and listened at work and home.
The narrator seemed like he really fit the character and was easy to listen to.
I'm not a big movie watcher, but I really enjoyed this story and will have to follow up to see how the movie compares.
