Historia
Spanning the years 1900 to 1977, The Covenant of Water is set in Kerala, on South India’s Malabar Coast, and follows three generations of a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowning—and in Kerala, water is everywhere. At the turn of the century, a twelve-year-old girl from Kerala’s long-existing Christian community, grieving the death of her father, is sent by boat to her wedding, where she will meet her forty-year-old husband for the first time.

Story is good the narration is tough
Revisado: 05-15-24
I enjoyed the story but the narration was so slow, i listened at normal speed for about an hour and then by about 10% in I had to speed it up to 1.7 and it sounded to me like a regular person reading. I am grateful that I did this other wise this would have been a did not finish. If you are struggling speed it up.

Was it poorly written or poorly edited?
Revisado: 04-26-21
I was expecting a great story and great editing especially coming from an all-star cast and a book written by James Patterson. What we got with something completely different. The story moved from plot line to plot line without good or even OK transition.Even the name the cold his case didn’t seem to match the story.

A Sparkling Cozy but the Editing is Awful
Revisado: 01-26-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes- I really enjoy the Claire Cosi cozy mysteries, they are fun and keep up with current trends.
Any additional comments?
The editing in the last hour was so bad I really wonder if anyone actually listened to the edited version of this audio book.

Gripping Story
Revisado: 11-17-15
The performance was very good the story was better.
I usually can guess the twists and turns in these types of plots, however along with the protagonist I was surprised at how the story unfolds. Very suspenseful.

Awful Baby talking and accents
Revisado: 11-11-15
What would have made The Liar better?
Better naration. The baby talking was so annoying it made it almost impossible to listen to.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The story was very predictable.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of January LaVoy?
I think she would have been fine if she didn't make up all the ridiculous accents.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Characters were not bad just the predicable story line and the accents were awful.

What did you like best about this story?
This was a cute story but everything was very date it seems like it was 1970s.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I don't know if I make this into a movie.

A little bit of Ireland
Revisado: 03-31-15
From the title of this book I guess I knew from the beginning that there was going to be some sort of a death. I I enjoyed learning a little bit about Irish music and this book created a desire for me to do some more investigating to find out if this type of thing really occurred in Ireland in the 80s.
I enjoy the way Sheila Conley has begun to develop more depth to our characters. I like that there is intrigue and suspense but without a lot of violence or sex. I can't wait until the next Book in the series is written.

Wonderful story horrible audio
Revisado: 02-20-14
What did you like best about Northanger Abbey? What did you like least?
The story was classic Jane Austin, the story brought me back to my visit to Bathe. The audio was so bad it seemed to be at a very fast speed, and would at times sound like it was sped up to double speed. The audio also cracked through out. It was very quite or rating.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Northanger Abbey?
When Catherine went to Northangsr Abbey and the way Henry teased her.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes
