Great story, not so great narration
Revisado: 11-22-20
I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to get through this book because of the narration. I did eventually get used to the way he delivered the voices. The story kept my attention. Even though I guessed what was going to happen, I enjoyed hearing it unfold. I was given this book in exchange for my honest review. Once you get used to the narrator, I think you will enjoy it.

Nick wants Evie to fight. Evie, on the other hand, is almost ready to die. She kicked cancer twice before. But this time around, Evie knows it’s a battle she can’t win. Instead, she focuses on getting her affairs in order, which includes hiring a nanny to take care of the kids after she’s gone.

Sad but Beautiful Story
Revisado: 07-06-19
I enjoyed listening to this book despite the sad topic. I have never in all of my years of listening on Audible had to increase the speed, but the narrator was so slow that I couldn’t take it so I had to speed it up so she would talk faster. Once I did that, it was fine but parts of the narration seemed weird to me. The overall book and storyline was good and I did enjoy it. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed listening to the story. I think the character development was great and I really grew an attachment to the main character. I got a little lost towards the middle end of the book but overall I thought it was an enjoyable listen!
I received this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you for the opportunity of letting me listen and learn a little bit more about Chinese culture!

I rarely give up on books but this one was painful. The background noises and narration were very distracting and pretty horrible. I tried it for 42 minutes and gave up.

Historia
In Hemlock Hollow, life isn't easy, but it is simple. Things in my community haven't changed much in over 300 years, since the time my Amish ancestors came to what is now the Green Republic. I milk my cow by hand, make fresh bread every morning, and hope to be courted by Jeremiah, a boy I've known since childhood. When my father falls ill, the English doctor says a hospital outside the wall can heal him. Jeremiah convinces me to go on rumspringa, to experience the outside world as an Englisher.

Interesting and kept my interest
Revisado: 03-22-17
I thought the story line was interesting. I think my teenagers will really enjoy this. I like young adult fiction, too, so it kept my interest. I thought the narrator was great and really brought the characters to life.
I was given this free copy by the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Cute little Christmas story
Revisado: 11-20-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
We chose to listen to this as a family on a road trip. If you have kids who believe in Santa, do not listen to this with them! The book spills the beans and this could be traumatic to a kid who still believes.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I would have used a different narrator. The story seemed a bit far fetched, too (I don't think the mother in law would really be that cruel).
How could the performance have been better?
Personally, I didn't like the voice of the narrator. She grated on my nerves a bit (sorry!).
Any additional comments?
While we did enjoy this story, it wasn't my favorite but it was enjoyable. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

Loved it....narrator was excellent!
Revisado: 10-26-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Letter to be better than the print version?
Yes, I would. The narrator was excellent. I thouroughly enjoyed listening and feel I got more out of the audio experience than I would have from reading.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I enjoyed savoring the book. I listen while I run and this took me about 6 days to complete. I looked forward to it every morning.
Any additional comments?
I loved the story and loved the way all the ends tied up. It was definitely worth the credit.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This was the best audio book I think I have ever listened to. I loved everything about it...such a sweet story with characters I fell in love with.

I loved the relationship between Eula and Starla. There were parts that were so moving. I was really sad when it ended. How do you follow up with another audio book after that???
Any additional comments?
You will not regret the time or money spent on this book. I look forward to listening to it again in the future.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Revisado: 04-15-15
Would you listen to The Nightingale again? Why?
This is the best audible book I have ever listened to and I have listened to many! This story will stay with me forever...it was very well done and I will definitely listen to it again down the road.
What did you like best about this story?
The narrator was brilliant. I usually cringe when a woman tries to do a man's voice, but she did it amazingly well along with the elderly voice and children's voices. The story is so well written and so meaningful. The last 4 hours left me in tears and parts were hard to listen to, but the ending was beautiful.
Have you listened to any of Polly Stone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I will definitely be looking for other things she has narrated. She was flawless.
Any additional comments?
You will not regret the hours spent listening to this gem. It will add to your life and help you see things in a new perspective. Anyone can make a difference in this world...you just need the drive, determination and will to do it! LISTEN TO THIS BOOK!
