This audiobook by Robert Spencer was incredibly informative and it was based on reliable sources about the life of Muhammad. It is a wake up call to all people who believe in democracy, religious freedom and the dignity of the human person. Educators, politicians and policy-making officials should take heed at the weighty matters Robert Spencer makes reference to in this book.

This is a thorough analysis of Political correctness. Well documented. I liked especially the reflection on the historical roots of political correctness.

Esta novela es increíblemente inspiradora.
El perdón que regenera. El poder del bien que se sobrepone sobre el mal. La humildad de ocupar el último puesto.

La ejecución fue muy emotiva y muy bien hecha. Excelente!

I first came to know about Francis Schaeffer after reading Nancy Pearcy’s “Love Thy Body” book.
I am Roman Catholic, but must say I was very pleased at reading this book. I found Schaeffer’s thoughts and proposed system very balanced and encompassing, an unusual trait in our often compartmentalized world. I definitely would like to know and read more of Schaeffer’s works.

These are some of the highlights of this book for me:

-Schaeffer’s analysis of Art, Philosophy and Theology, and his insight on the “above/under the line of despair”

-His validation of antithesis as a key approach to reality at an epistemological and hermeneutical level.

-His upper story/lower story example as a key of interpretation in Philosophy, Theology and the Arts.

-His insistence that Christianity is an answer to the “whole of reality”. The famous “leap of faith” is not a good criterion for approaching reality, but rather allowing the truth of biblical Christianity permeate the whole of reality. I find this approach most appealing.

-His insistence on truth and especially moral truth.

Since this is my first exposure to Schaeffer, I may have missed other points. These are the ones that caught my attention the most!

This book highlights the problem of compartmentalization in the Christian life. Indeed, for the authentic Christian disciple, there is no separation between life in all its complexity and faith. The Christian faith enlightens all the elements and expressions of everything that is human, yes, including the arts.

The induction to attend less Church services, I found troublesome. I still think that being part of a Christian community is a foundational biblical value that should be cherished.

This book should be read by every single kid in the world. It’s interesting and fun. It’s full of twists and turns. It contains a great moral message for young generations. The narrator does a superb job in portraying the different characters. And, to state the obvious, the book is much better than the Disney movie.

The moral lesson of Pinocchio’s story is incredible: the value of obedience to one’s parents (or the consequences of the lack thereof), the intricate world of moral choices, the consequences of bad company, and the value of learning from past mistakes. A beautiful story exploring the drama of human freedom, the make up of the learning experience and the possibility, at last, of redemption, restoration and transformation.
