At the onset of World War II, Williams formed Elephant Company and was instrumental in defeating the Japanese in Burma and saving refugees, including on his own "Hannibal Trek." I liked his shared stories about how subtle impressions are linked to your own experiences and symbolize the message intended for a reading. it helps you realize that listening to the; universe is a power we all possess within us. Tyler also pulls apart right and wrong replacing it with love and insight. The transformational soul versus ego mindset shift brings clarity to our opportunities here on earth.

Witty Witchy Mystery Series
Revisado: 05-05-24
I loved this series! The main character is a witch who has a talent for solving mysteries. With well developed characters filled with wit and humor, this knitting club takes you on their journey to uncover the truth behind unexpected deaths. Lucy is so relatable, she connects and draws you into her cozy mystery right away. As she strengthens her paranormal abilities, each book in the series builds and grows context without becoming cheesy and outlandish. I love how the author plays between quirky and cheeky while delivering a thoughtful plot and storyline. You never know quite how the solution will unfold so it is hard to put the book down until the story is complete. Out of pure delight, I pick up the next book wondering what new adventure awaits. This series stands out as a favorite of mine.

Historia
Lucy inherits an Oxford knitting shop...and so much more. Like the vampires who live downstairs and pop up to the shop when they run out of wool, or for their late-night knitting club. They've even offered to help Lucy learn how to knit. She discovers she's a witch and has some quirky relatives she never knew about. Her grandmother's supposed to be dead, but keeps showing up. It's enough to send Lucy screaming back to Boston, except there's a mystery to solve and Oxford and her new vampire friends are kind of growing on her....

Vampires & Witches that Knit?!!
Revisado: 09-17-22
This is my first book to read by Nancy Warren. The book is about a relatable modern woman in her 20's who discovers she is a witch. Around this same time, our heroine meets vampires who are connected to her grandmother's knitting shop. The characters are introduced in this first book and charm their way into your heart. I read this book as part of a boxed set of 3 in the series and recommend that you do the same. Each story is a stand-alone, but they build on each other nicely when read in order within the series. I do not knit and enjoy the fact that Lucy does not find knitting enjoyable either. As she warms up to knitting, she finds a wonderful paranormal world of modern day vampires that help her solve mysteries that inexplicable seem to happen around her. As she navigates her normal and secret paranormal worlds, you find moments of humor mixed with insights that ultimately weave together to solve the mystery at hand. It is hard to put this cozy mystery book down so I find myself listening to the first book and then going right into the second one and so on. The stories are entertaining and will help lighten the mood. I listen to the Vampire Knitting Club audio books when I paint, run errands, work around the house, or just want an escape. The performer sounds slightly more mature than a girl in her 20s, but her skills in accents and how to capture the mood of the characters is remarkable. I look forward to finishing this series and starting a new one.

Thoughtfully Woven Story Line
Revisado: 08-19-22
As the spy adventure unfolds, the characters weave in and out of each other's storyline as pieces of the mystery are revealed. The two main characters keep the reader engaged and curious in ways more sophisticated that what I was expecting. The back and forth narration was very good and elevates why it is worth listening to the story as an audiobook. I did not know Brynn Kelly's work, and will look forward to audiobooks from her going forward. It is the perfect balance of a spy thriller adventure with the charm of a lighter romantic comedy.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

When Paths Cross
Revisado: 07-29-21
Gracie, Wei, and Sam make a delightful team trying to wade through the life of ordinary and extraordinary, What appears to be real versus the truth becomes an engaging plot for the story with several intriguing subplots unfolding as the story progresses. I enjoyed the narrator's voice for Gracie and Sam whose banter kept a smile on my face. The sage wisdom of Fangli made for amusing dialogue between the two best friends. What I enjoyed most about the book was Gracies juxtaposition between being insecure yet having the moxy to believe in herself during a barrage of awkward yet comedic moments. They were especially funny when it involved Sam who was the consummate smooth, suave, yet skeptical sidekick during the entire adventure. I had a hard time putting it down and wait with anticipation for the next book by Lily Chu.

The Truth Heals
Revisado: 04-20-21
Georgina has always suspected she may not be the biological child of her father. After he passes, she investigates the truth about her biological differences using DNA analysis. Her empathy towards her mother is evident as the secret is revealed. The story offers insights on the power of parental love and Georgina show grace and courage as she uncovers her true self. I hope she continues this podcast to weave in her biological father's story as she discovers it. It is a fascinating story captivating me as it unfolded.
