Shaw or Sean, very much the same

Total
3 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 05-04-09

Enjoyable story but a little predictable - Boy meets girl... I like most of Baldacci's books, but I ask myself why create a new character, Shaw, who is so much like Sean (a previous character) of "Simple Genius"? And a story that is so obviously designed for ongoing sequels. At least Simple Genius offered a few unforeseen twists and turns which this book (Whole Truth) did not.

Thoroughly enjoyable

If you like Harry Potter you will enjoy this story of a little girl
and her journey in a world like ours, but a little different. It's
not magical like Harry but the supernatural is there, and so
is the suspense and adventure. Great characters that you
learn to love and hate. So much better than the movie.
Read the book!

I've already order the rest of the series and am busy reading
them all!

No Appealing

Total
3 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 09-08-08

Runaway Jury, The Partner and The Last Juror were
great books. Parts of what made these books so
enjoyable seemed to be rolled into The Appeal.

But not nearly as appealing. If you like Grisham
you'll probably enjoy this book. But don't expect
any surprises or great revelations. Nor look for
any endearing characters that you would like to
see return.

One saving grace was the reader, Michael Beck.
I have enjoyed every book he has read!

I'll read John's next book as long as it's not
about sports or pizza.

Enjoyable, predictable, quintessential Vince Flynn

Total
3 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 09-08-08

I have read \ listened to many [most] of Flynn's
novels. But this one, while enjoyable, was a
little on autopilot.

The story opens where the last one left off, for
the most part, which I like, providing continuity.
Mitch Rapp is his usual macho self, but somehow
one dimensional in this novel- predictable, and
a little flat without a love interest.

Lots of action, a little suspense, and a little insightful
as far as the middle east is concerned. But some of
the foreign characters and their responses were
unbelievable.

I will get his next book. But I hope it's better than
this one.
