Great story telling
Revisado: 03-29-24
95% of the time I really enjoy this podcast. I've listened to almost every episode over the past few years. The stories are accurate and clearly narrated, if not a little formulaic. My only gripe is that 5% of the time when either of the hosts actually come off as arrogant/insufferable when trying to be funny about something, where they're not very informed.

Historia
Shelby Tebow is the first to go missing. Not long after, Meredith Dickey and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen, striking fear into their once-peaceful community. Are these incidents connected? After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold. Now, 11 years later, Delilah shockingly returns. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they'll find....

Decent for the genre.
Revisado: 10-10-23
I listened the whole way through to the end. I don't always listen or read books of this genre because they usually are so dumb and full of the same tropes, that my head actually starts to hurt. This one wasn't bad though. One of the main characters, Meredith, can sometimes be insufferable and dramatic, but she has her redeeming qualities. I liked the take on Leo's perspective of the family trauma - I would have liked more in the conclusion from his perspective, where we only get Kate's point-of-view. I did not suspect the perpetrator of the crime although I did like how the author built in a sense of those red herrings for Meredith's possible murders, where you know you're missing something! It's not as good as the Silent Patient or Wicked River, but it's not a bad beach read.
