A great listen! These guys are funny and entertain
Revisado: 02-23-14
If you could sum up Humor & Race (2009) in three words, what would they be?
They make we want to read their work.
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
Since this is a taping of a conversation this question doesn't apply, Give it a listen and you'll enjoy, I'm sure of it.
Have you listened to any of Tod Goldberg’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Any and all of them, he's hilarious! He should host more of the conversations at the Festival of Books. I wish his work was available on audtiobooks.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The conbination of the authors is excellent, they interact off each other well.
Any additional comments?
I am going to find these authors in other media and keep watching for them on audtiobooks. Bring them back!

Would you consider the audio edition of Enough About You to be better than the print version?
Doesn't apply. This is an audio of a panel discussion in front of an audience at the book festival, with interaction between authors, audience and moderator.
Any additional comments?
Anytime Goldberg is involved listen for a good laugh. I think he's hilarious, as are other panelists.

Historia
In this wickedly honest new work, Chelsea Handler casts the net wider with even funnier results, recalling the most noteworthy highs and lows of her life to date - including her efforts to diversify by dating red-haired men, her obsession with midgets, and the dog-sitting interlude in which her boyfriend became overly familiar with a Peekapoo.

A new fan of Chelsea's.
Revisado: 04-08-13
If you could sum up Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea in three words, what would they be?
Real, funny, relateable.
What other book might you compare Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea to and why?
I think it's a unique book, at least right now I can't think of another to compare it to.
What does Chelsea Handler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Chelsea is a good narrarator, and it just adds to the story when the the author narrarates their own work. She made it seem effortless, I concentrated on the book rather than the performance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Several times she had me laughing out loud. She cracks me up, but she has a heart also. I'm not sure I knew that about her before the book. She can be so direct sometimes, she comes off as mean. Now I think that she's just being direct in her own way. I get her.
Any additional comments?
I'll be buying her other books after listening to this one. I've always liked Chelsea, but now I'm a fan of her as an author. The book is enjoyable and will crack you up, it did me.

Historia
Babe Walker, center of the universe, is a painstakingly manicured white girl with an expensive smoothie habit, a proclivity for Louboutins, a mysterious mother she's never met, and approximately 50 bajillion Twitter followers. But her "problems" have landed her in shopping rehab - that's what happens when you spend $246,893.50 in one afternoon at Barneys. Now she's decided to write her memoir, revealing the gut-wrenching hurdles she's had to overcome in order to be perfect in every way, every day.

Okay, but not great
Revisado: 04-08-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
While I enjoyed her certain sense of humor and could relate in many ways, having grown up in Orange County, California, the book seemed to wander without direction through her life. Some of the chapters are amusing, but the book, in general, dragged for me. It wasn't what I expected.
Would you ever listen to anything by Babe Walker again?
Yes, I would probably giver her another try.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
There were some amusing incidents. I think the chapter with the sex partner/trainer was too much, I get the humor behind it, but it was just too much for me.
Any additional comments?
I think many people won't get the level of Babe's expectations and won't understand the daily excessive indulgences, which granted, aren't that over the top for those that actually live that type of lifestyle, especially in L.A. And that's where the humor lies....

His itch to be active is answered when a body is discovered: It's Dominic Como, one of San Francisco's most high-profile activists - a charismatic man known as much for his expensive suits as his work on a half dozen nonprofit boards. One "person of interest" in the case is Como's business associate, Alicia Thorpe - young, gorgeous, and the sister of one of Mickey's friends.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I think I would, but not as my first choice for this author.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Not really, it wouldn't be classified as a pageturner in my opinion.
Did Jeffrey Cummings do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes, he did a pretty good job.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, nothing extreme about it really.
Any additional comments?
Not my favorite, but it was okay. So far I like the Hunt series, a little more suspense would be nice. Not much more I can say for this book, it was just okay.

Not as good as some of his other books.
Revisado: 01-22-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
There were times the story characters didn't seem to react to the situation in a believable way. I like twists and turns but this story was kind of flat for me and didn't build any suspense. I tried it two times and it just was not great.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
A different narrator may have been able to improve the book. It seemed a little slow...

Historia
Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

Story seemed to drag, maybe it was the performance
Revisado: 01-22-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The story just never seemed to get off the ground for me and I'm a big fan of Grisham usually.
What was most disappointing about John Grisham’s story?
I think it was the performance.
How could the performance have been better?
It was slow.

Enjoyed this book and look forward to more of his, I'll be recommending it to my friends. The focus of the book is unique, moves quickly, and as usual, the author delivers twist and turns along the way with an unexpected ending. I also enjoy the legal insight into our justice system and games that are, or could be, played.
