Historia
At the age of 17, Spurgeon became pastor to a handful of believers at Waterbeach in Cambridgeshire, meeting in what had been a dovecote. Within five years, he had become the best-known minister in London. Two years later, following the Sepoy Mutiny, he conducted a service of national humiliation in the Crystal Palace that was attended by 24,000 people. But this volume is far from being a record of human fame and success....

Delightful in the truest sense!
Revisado: 01-08-22
This Autobiography ranks as my most favored of all time. Completely inspirational and encouraging to all who name the name of Jesus Christ, and gospel worthy to those who don't.

Historia
Jesus Christ is coming back. It is certainly a Christian's greatest hope during these difficult times. The Bible warns us that the last days will be tumultuous - wars and rumors of wars will spread (Matthew 24:6). In our age, the world seems to be spinning out of control, creating fear, confusion, and uncertainty. In addition to violence, pestilence, and epidemics, the Bible predicts a great "falling away" from God in the end times. Bible teachers call that "the great apostasy".

Convicting and restorative
Revisado: 09-26-21
This book was a powerful resource in identifying my own personal apostasy. It has helped to produce a fresh repentance, renewed hope and a redirecting of my priorities. I am thankful to the author for his thorough and unabashed identification of the blatant and subtle dangers that pervade our current culture. Specifically, the "tolerant" and "moralistic therapeutic deistic" mentality that has invaded the church in an alarming magnitude. I highly recommend this book to any professing Christians, it is a great tool to utilize in order to examine oneself, as scripture directs us.

Historia
Throughout the autobiography, Spurgeon records those aspects of life that only an autobiography can: his family circle, the daily labor behind his public works, and the feelings which led him to resist the reformation of the Faith of the Churches. Above all, he records his experiences of God's grace.

Mr. Spurgeon is yet.... very much alive.
Revisado: 03-20-21
I am struck by the verse; The Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express. Surely, such groans are required to communicate to the Glory of God, the necessity of thanksgivings for a life so well lived. I am "spur-ged" on, inspired and prayerful. Oh, that a fragment of such devotion and commitment be found in me. Christ in us all, the hope of glory. Read this book and it will seem to you that you are reclining upon the Master's breast.

Historia
"To him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Spurgeon's masterpiece on grace from Romans 4:5 is an outstanding description of God's love and unmerited grace to us. It is one of the clearest examples of salvation by grace ever written. Spurgeon's masterpiece is one the finest expositions ever penned on faith, repentance, and regeneration.

Timeless Message.
Revisado: 02-10-20
A beautiful portrait of God's grace as explained by Charles Haddon Spurgeon. Surely this will be a frequent repeat in my library, as the message is timeless.
