Bad English is sure to enlighten, enrage, and perhaps even inspire. Filled with historic and contemporary examples, the audiobook chronicles the long and entertaining history of language mistakes, and features some of our most common words and phrases, including decimate, hopefully, enormity, that vs. which, enervate vs. energize, bemuse vs. amuse, literally vs. figuratively, ain't, irregardless, socialist, OMG, and stupider.

A delightful approach
Revisado: 10-17-21
The manner Mr. Shea invokes to educate without be pretentious is most enjoyable and refreshing.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Narration is Lacking
Revisado: 05-11-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes; the book is the greatest story of our time. It pulls from history and lore to thoroughly develops a world within our own.
What other book might you compare Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Book 1 to and why?
It is as encompassing in story as that of Lord of the Rings...without all the poetry and song.
How could the performance have been better?
Jim Dale is the wrong narrator for this story. His attempts at mimicking the voices of pre-teen children would be laughable if it wasn't so bad.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
It is and I have...several times.
