Historia
Even before the doomed mission to Hadley’s Hope on LV-426, Jenette Vasquez had to fight to survive. Born to an immigrant family with a long military tradition, she looked up to the stars, but life pulled her back down to Earth—first into a street gang, then prison. The Colonial Marines proved to be Vasquez’s way out—a way that forced her to give up her twin children. Raised by Jenette’s sister, those children, Leticia and Ramon, had to discover their own ways to survive.

Disappointed
Revisado: 11-16-22
I was hoping this book would cover more of the original Vasquez's life in the Core, her fellow Marines and how she (they) ended up on the fatal planet. It would have been cool to know her thoughts as she fought the Xenos. The character doesn't have a lot of lines in the movie, so hearing events from her point of view would have been interesting.
What I was NOT hoping for was some long drawn out teenage drama that could have been condensed down to a couple of flashbacks. Too much time was wasted on unneeded backstory. I stopped listening for a couple of days because I grew frustrated with the storyline, characters and lack of connection with the story. I finally returned to the book because I didn't want to waste my credit.
The whole book was a painful ordeal. Please do better!

I liked the story
Revisado: 01-07-21
The main character is a bit irritating but that maybe just me. Adults being childish, though we all do it, gets on my nerves. However I really did enjoy the overall story.

I wasn't sure what to expect. Thought it was a kids book at first. Nope...LOL The main characters relationships were the most interesting.

Frustrated Irritated and Confused
Revisado: 10-04-19
I found myself getting frustrated and irritated with the main charaster. She definitely is not Ellen Ripley. The flashbacks are a bit confusing and interrupt the flow of the story at odd times.

Enjoyed the story
Revisado: 07-15-19
I wasn't sure I would like this, but I found myself laughing at and with the main character. She responded much Luke I might have in a similar situation. Plus I liked the end and would liked to know more about the entire family.

Enjoyed It
Revisado: 05-20-19
This is a story I wish was longer. It would have been good to know how the conflict started, who the enemy was and more back story as to who Bela and her crew are. They seem like very interesting people. As it is, I did enjoy the story, however it feels like I opened a book and began reading in the middle.

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.
