Wonderful and unexpected:
Revisado: 09-25-21
When I first began reading the book I wasn't sure, both because it is different than other books that Amy Clipston has written and also because it was a little slow at the beginning. Once I got into it I really enjoyed it. I loved the description of the scenery, the little community and the resort. I was reminded of how we tend to hold on to what is familiar instead of grasping the best we could ever have and hope for. It was an excelent book and I look forward to reading more like this by Amy. Also, the performance was excelent. Hearing a book readfor me, is like a sighted person watching a movie and because of such a great performance this book came alive in my mind and I could picture the lake, the town and even imagine sitting eating a cone from the ice cream shop. I recommend this book for everyone, young and old.

Touching, Honest and Heartfelt!
Revisado: 08-11-21
I am so impressed with this book. I found it while looking for another Amy Clipston book to read after finishing one of her series. What an inspiration for those considering to be an organ donor and for those struggling with waiting for one. Because this book is dealing with Kidney transplant and dialysis, and as a transplant resipiant, I was amazed with the honesty of this book. I know the challenges of both Peritoneal dialysis and Hemo dialysis as I, like Joe lived that life. When you read this book, and if you ever meet people living this same story, please remember that it isn't only the person suffering from the disease, but that the whole family suffers. Amy's heart comes through in the intimate story of the challenges that the whole family lived with. I give this book better then five stars. This must have been very difficult to write but I believe necessary. I recommend this book to everyone! Excelent book and excelent performence.

Edge of the Seat Suspense:
Revisado: 08-05-21
Excelent storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat. Lynette has outdone herself with this book and in fact this whole series. It is a must read and prepare to read it straight through because once you start reading, you won't want to put it down. All our favorite characters from the preveous three books are in this one as well and we see them come together as friends to to help in times of crisis. Because I listen to the books, the narator Callie brings the story alive with her amazing reading style and making the book come alive. This book should be read by anyone who loves suspense, even those who are seeking God because as in every other book that Lynette has written, those who seek God and His love and salvation will find Him in this book. Again, Amazing and I am sorry to see the series end.

Historia
After a tornado rips through her town, store owner Abigail comes across a piece of fabric from a wedding dress among the devastation. Abigail is moved to start collecting other swatches of fabric she finds - her neighbor’s kitchen curtains, a man’s necktie, a dog’s bed - which she stashes in shopping bags. As she pursues her seemingly absurd quest, horrible realities spark the question, “What kind of a God would allow such tragedy?”

Fear or Forgiveness!
Revisado: 12-21-20
As an avid book reader I have read hundreds of books in the last year and none has had the effect on me that this book did. The story was heartfelt and very realistic. It made me laugh and cry, get angry and even question "Why God?" But what I loved most about the book is how it gives direction in coping with loss and rebuilding after tragity and reminding us all that a cord of three strands can not be broken as long as one of those strands is Jesus. An amazing book, and very well performed.

Breath taking, Heart stoping stories
Revisado: 09-13-18
This book was amazing and made me want more. All three stories call for series to follow. They all left me wanting more and feeling a littl let down. I would reccomend anyone for this book. I especially love how the three different authors wrote about our protective and lifesaving services. these men and women need more praise and positive attention. The reader was amazing and because I have to listen to books, I believe I can say that she made them come alive for me. I could see the scenes in my minds eye. For these reasons I gave this book a full five rating. I hope all three authors will turn these stories into new series.

Amazing! Fantastic way to end the series and this book was all and more than I expected. I loved how so many of the storylines from the first three books were concluded in this one. Dani has out done herself with this book. I loved how Luke and Kate's story came together in this book and how God was present and active in their lives, even though Luke had drifted away from his first loves, The Lord and Kate. Such a beautiful yet difficult story. Therese Plummer did an amazing job with these books with the accents and such feeling. It made the book come alive for me!

Love beyond the grave:
Revisado: 07-28-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to everyone. It is written with such honesty and integrity that it seems as if Rorry is sitting with you and sharing all about his life.
What other book might you compare This Life I Live to and why?
I might compare it to the Time of My Life by Patrick and Lisa Swayze in that both books tell about their lives, but Rorry is still living with the loss of Joey while Patrick and Lisa still had each other. Because of this, Rorry's book has a more sensitive feel to it.
Which character – as performed by Rory Feek – was your favorite?
Well, I would have to say being himself, because it is hard to play yourself. You as the character are present and not tryong to be someone you are suppose to be. Any other person playing Rorry may feel the enotions he felt, but Rorry was living them, his tears, laughter, frustration and fear and especially the sadness, loneliness and sorrow were in every word he read.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
probably, "Love Hurts, But its Worth it!"
Any additional comments?
I would just like to say that I was totally amazed that Rorry was able to read the book and make it come alive for me. When I live by sound because I am blind, I can sense what a reader is feeling and in Rorry's case, everything he felt came through in his reading. The only thing I would like to have seen added to the audible book would have been some of there music when Rorry was talking about different parts of their lives, that co-insided with it.

From the day they met, John and Elizabeth were destined to fall in love. Their whirlwind romance started when they were young college students and lasted nearly 30 years - until Elizabeth died of cancer. So when John Baxter is asked to relive his long-ago love story with Elizabeth for his grandson Cole's heritage project, he's not sure he can do it. The sadness might simply be too great.

Captured Again by Karen!
Revisado: 07-18-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and even to my enemies. It is a fantastic book, but then I wouldn't expect anything less from Karen Kingsbury.
What other book might you compare Love Story to and why?
It is hard to compare it to others, but because it made me think a lot about my own life and relationships, probably one of Dani Patrey's Alaskan Courage series books. Both Karen and Dani write books that touch the heart and if by chance you have strayed away from Jesus or have never met Him as your personal Savior, it is hard not to make this decision after reading books from either of these authors.
Which scene was your favorite?
I think my favorite scenes were when Andy and Cody went to save the mom and her children in the flood and also when she finally found him in Montana and they married. My other favorite scene was when Cole wanted to know about Ashly and Landen's love story but she thought Cole meant his birth father. They were all touching scenes.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Definitely, but unfortunately the life of a student doesn't allow for such enjoyment.
Any additional comments?
I just want to thank Karen for sharing her family with us through her books and especially always making sure that she gives very detailed explainations of how to become a Child of King Jesus, and make Him Lord and Savior of one's life. Even people who have never heard the Gospel hear the message in Karen's books, but it is done with love and compassion and very naturally in conversations with different people in the books.

Historia
The practice of ministering to the widows and orphans is reflected in this story of Christina Willems, a young woman from Kansas, in 1884, who is determined to reopen the poor farm she manages after a fire devastates the property. She finds opposition from many surprising corners but an unlikely ally in a lumber mill owner who wants nothing more than to hold himself aloof from the world and its troubles. Levi Jonnson agrees to take care of one of the poor farm residents, a young blind boy - and in doing so opens himself up to Christina's world in ways he wouldn't have imagined.

Seeing with your heart
Revisado: 08-29-16
What did you love best about What Once Was Lost?
I loved how I'm showed, through the teling of this story, how so many people feel cast aside, whether through physical or other types of disabilities. She wrote such a moving story and I could feel for Tommy but also the others who felt cast aside by society. even Levi, felt lost and alone because of his father's depression felt cast aside, and not worthy to be a part of community.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved how through showing kindness to Tommy, Levi learned he could trust again. I also loved how Kim did not water down the feelings and behaviors of Tommy because of him being blind. As a blind person myself, I have often felt ignored by those around me, even family and church members. So often I have felt like I am in total darkness though I do have some sight. Kim showed blindness as it really is, that we are very capable people and that we are worthy of love and friendship. Tommy was love by Christina, but she held him to tight, wrapped in celefaine, because of her fear that he could endanger himself. Levi showed Tommy love, but aloud him to strike out on his own and try new things though protecting him from dangerous situations buy setting guidelines and guide ropes as well.
What does Pilar Witherspoon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Pilar Witherspoon brought life to the story through her reading and putting feeling into the story. Had I read it, I could not have done that because it would have been a computer voice reading for me. I love how she used different inflections for different people like the children, Levi, Christina and others. When a person was sad, her voice was sad. When a person was angry, her voice was angry. Things like that make a book come alive for me as a blind reader.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and it was difficult not to do so. I must say that one morning I didn't want to get up because of staying up so late to listen to it.
Any additional comments?
Again, I was very impressed how Kim brought this story together. I believe that those who have never encountered a blind person will look at that person differently when they do, or if they already have, and believed that blind people and others with disabilities are helpless, this book will help in changing their views. Also, I love how Kim showed God's love through so many different persons and how those people showed His love to those who did not believe it or felt that God no longer loved them because of what they had done.

Angels Everywhere, Everyday
Revisado: 07-27-16
What did you love best about Brush of Wings?
The Biblical references throughout the book constantly got my attention. Whatever the situation there is an answer for in the Bible and Brush of Wings brought them to the surface for me. I loved how Karen showed that all of heaven pray for those who call on God when difficult surcomstances come in life and that sometimes it is a real battle before a winner is declaired.
What did you like best about this story?
I really appreciated how real life situations, teen pregnancy, medical illness and life situations were all addressed in the story. I am sure in most areas we are dealing with gangs and gang violence, yet there is also evidence that God is also at work in those same situations and with those in the gangs. I really loved how prayer was a big part of the story, from those who were taught as young children to pray to Lexi who called on the name of Jesus when she thought that Jag was going to shoot Dwayne, and God heard her call and answered her prayer and calmed Jag as well. I believe that was the beginning of the turning towards God, for Lexi.
Which character – as performed by Kirby Heyborne and January LaVoy – was your favorite?
I can't say because they both did such a wonderful job. They have been perfect for this series and I would love to hear them in many more.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I am not sure, but I would like a film series on the whole Angel Walking series. They are such wonderful books and Karen makes the charictors come alive with the help of the readers.
Any additional comments?
Just want to thank Karen for the wonderful books that she writes and especially this series which have been timely for me right now. I also want to thank Kirby and January for their presentation of all three books in this series. Great job.
