Historia
If the broken neon signs, shuttered storefronts, and sub-standard housing didn’t tip you off, you’ve just wandered into the city of “Undisclosed”. You don’t want to be caught dead here, because odds are you just might find yourself rising from the grave. That hasn’t stopped tourists from visiting to check out the unusual phenomena that hangs around our town like radioactive fallout. Interdimensional parasites feeding on human hosts, paranormal cults worshipping demonic entities, vengeful teenage sorcerers, we’ve got it all.

No matter the name on the book, they are hilarious. sarcastic and irreverent stories delivered by the perfect reader. I highly recommend all of Wong/Pargin books.

Historia
Ben and Marian Rolfe are desperate to escape a stifling summer in their tiny Brooklyn apartment, so when they get the chance to rent a mansion in upstate New York for the entire summer for only $900, it's an offer that's too good to refuse. There's only one catch: behind a strange and intricately carved door in a distant wing of the house lives elderly Mrs. Allardyce, and the Rolfes will be responsible for preparing her meals. But Mrs. Allardyce never seems to emerge from her room, and it soon becomes clear that something weird and terrifying is happening in the house.

Historia
A master storyteller at his best - the O. Henry Prize winner Stephen King delivers a generous collection of stories, several of them brand-new, featuring revelatory autobiographical comments on when, why, and how he came to write (or rewrite) each story. Magnificent, eerie, utterly compelling, these stories comprise one of King's finest gifts to his constant fan. "I made them especially for you," says King. "Feel free to examine them, but please be careful. The best of them have teeth."

I enjoyed this book a great deal and it has caused me to look at life and family in a new way. Incredibly sad but powerful look at what being a father is all about. Great reading performance and story

Enough twists and turns without getting turned around on it self. I am glad I started the Penn Cage series and plan to keep reading. Tom Stechschulte does am awesome job with a range of characters and I look for books he narrates. Don't pass this one by.

Koontz is Pablum
Revisado: 07-09-21
Used to read Koontz while waiting for the next King book and he was passable bubble gum. This story showed me how vanilla he is and how awful a story can be. Who writes a books with a hero named Jeffy?? I usually eat up multiverse books but his vanilla story where everyone comes out ok in the end was the worst. I know he has a niche but avoid this story no matter what you have as a backup read. Narrator does a good job and kept me listening but this book was awful. Do NOT waste your time or money.

Historia
Nicholas, a would-be poet, and Nakota, his feral lover, discover a strange hole in the storage room floor down the hall - "Black. Pure black and the sense of pulsation, especially when you look at it too closely, the sense of something not living but alive." It begins with curiosity, a joke - the Funhole down the hall. But then the experiments begin. "Wouldn't it be wild to go down there?" says Nakota. Nicholas says "We're not." But they're not in control, not from the first moment, as those experiments lead to obsession, violence, and a very final transformation.

Worst book on Audible
Revisado: 06-19-21
I have been an Audible member for years and listened to hundreds of book and I am a voracious reader. this is by far one of the worst books I ever read. I saw it in the book store and it was recommended by the staff, I will never again trust their recommendations. this book was infuriating, I refused to give up and continued to wait for something scary to happen, or even interesting. the characters were losers with nothing going on and when they find something interesting they think about what it means the whole book. the narrator should be given an award for doing well enough to make me finish. Do not waste your time on this stinker

Historia
If you've never read a Repairman Jack novel, this is the place to begin. It's 1990. A twenty-one-year-old named Jack has dropped out of college, leaving his old life behind to build a new one in New York City. Manhattan's rough edges are jagged enough to shred any unwary newcomer, but perhaps not one who is determined to stay off the grid, at any cost, in the busiest metropolis on earth. And to do so, he'll have to take jobs of a less than legal nature.

The Beginning of Repairman Jack
Revisado: 03-07-21
Read a few of the later Repairman Jack books and going back to the start has me ready to start the series knowing all the history. This one gives the foundation of the stories and lays the groundwork for development of the quicky cast of characters for the series. Great reader, really captured the essence of the characters and used a variety of regional accents that make the story more real. Give the repairman a try and start from the beginning.

Best Ever
Revisado: 11-17-20
I cannot Express the beauty of JL Burkes writing and the stories he weaves. All I can say is that listening to and reading his books are a singular pleasure. Mix that beauty with the best reader out there and you cannot go wrong. I wait for the next book and then wait a proper period before I enjoy them because I know the wait for the next will be a tough one. Thanks Mr. Burke and Mr. Patton, you bring a great pleasure to my life.
