I was so excited to get to the next book I forgot to review. Now that says something. This series has me hooked and idk if I can wait for the next audio to come out. paige and Christain we're the perfect narrators for this series.

This book almost made me cry. It was definitely not a romance at all. This book follows Neurologist Peter Jenson through the hardest time of his life. His wife is leaving him, he botched a surgery and his enemies are also working to sabotage his career. This isn’t including the promise he makes to the one woman he should have never created a bond with. (I also believe she is the person he needed the most in this time ‌of his life.)
Now the review.
I am not a religious person at all and this book has a heavy Christian presence and is a big part of the plot IMO. I actually think it brought a lot to the story and Peter’s life and added richness to his character plot. This isn't a book I would typically read at all and I was so surprised at how much I actually loved it and I would recommend it.
Now the important part. The narration. Because that can also make or break a book.

It was amazing, and Matt Christenson is the narrator. I could listen to him narrate anything. I give him 10 stars for this performance.

I adored this book. Excited for book two

I absolutely adored this book. I loved the characters, pacing, world building and the plot. The story immediately throws us into the action, where Fiona gets captured and held captive by the people she thinks are her enemies.. She loses everyone in her life again. She has to learn how to survive and earn her way into the water clan. The magic system is easy to learn and follow while also having its own unique system. Ali Danes' narration was perfect and I am going to be impatiently waiting for book two to be narrated.

Narrator was amazing for this book. I am a fan.
I really enjoyed this book. I needed a break from romance, and this hit the spot. Between writing romance, helping admin a romance writing group, and reading romance, I needed a brief break. I also just loved getting lost in this world.
In this book, an unnamed boy is summoned to a new world with no name or past. He is an anomaly, being the only human summons that can fully communicate and has to navigate this new world. The magic system is so good and reminds me of a video game. The magic system is straightforward to follow and shows the placement of each character in society, as well as their skill levels and specialties. In order to level up and gain any type of level up there are trials the land throws your way. Some are voluntary and others are mandatory. Beasts roam the lands and you never know what’s going to come your way. By the end of the book, everything you thought you knew is not what’s really going on and I am so excited to see what happens next in this boy's journey.

definitely a slow burn. the good stuff is really only at the end of the book. but over all i think it was good.
