Gaige Penrod yearns for the light of musical greatness. A self-taught metal guitarist with a dream of being the greatest, he finds himself drawn to a concert celebrating an eclipse, where he is overcome by an otherworldly presence that changes him forever.

The first part of this story felt so nostalgic. I saw myself as a teenager, going to outdoor concerts at Alpine Valley and listening to my boyfriend's band practice in our friends barn. I could totally relate to Gaige and his friends as they hung out, practiced music, and navigated thru life.

As the story propels forward, Gaige becomes entangled with a dark force and obsessed with fame, and no sacrifice is too big to fulfill his destiny. I loved the ominous ending of this story, with events that are still to unfold in April of 2024. It feels so real that it has me cautiously awaiting what's to come. Lol

Joe Hempel is a favorite narrator that did a fantastic job on this story as expected.

Criterium is an emotionally gripping story about a dad who loses his life to addiction and his son, who sadly follows in his footsteps. This fast-paced story had me twisted up inside. As someone who has watched a loved one struggle with addiction, this was very heart-wrenching to read. I sympathized with the characters and was just praying for a happy ending. Tyler Jones writes beautiful, dark, compelling stories with vivid horrific imagery. The narration was fantastic as well. I highly recommend it!

Wow. This story was much more complex than I had anticipated. The story is left open to interpretation, which I enjoyed. To me, this is a story about love, loss, grief, and regret. This story really packs a punch. It's dark and creepy while also being thoughtful and visceral. I was completely immersed in this story right up until the very end.
The narrator really knocked it out of the park with her character voices! Very enjoyable audiobook experience!

Slashtag was a fun multimedia experience. I listened to the audiobook while following along in my physical copy. I also visited the website and read background on the characters, and listened to the podcast episodes. The story is fast-paced and fun, with humor sprinkled in, along with some gruesome murder scenes. The narrator did a good job with the character voices and conveying emotion. Overall, it was a fun listening experience.

Kristopher Triana always manages to create despicable characters that I love to hate. Jackie is fresh out of the joint and working for the mob. He doesn't have a moral compass to save his life. The story had me gripped from the beginning, wanting to know how far Jackie would push the limits.
Chuck Burgee did a great job as narrator. His voice sounds like he could be an East Coast mob guy, so it fits perfectly with the story.

Bleak and disturbing, yet somehow thoughtful

I have yet to read a Kristopher Triana book that I haven't enjoyed. They All Died Screaming was no exception. This story was bleak and upsetting at times but completely gripping. It's kinda like a car wreck... you know you're going to see something terrible, but you can't look away. I will never look at french fries or Arby's roast beef sandwiches the same way!

Chuck Brugee did a great job narrating. The story would switch POVs with each chapter, and character voices were easily distinguishable. He also did a great job conveying emotion...laughter, unease, and fear. Shitty was my favorite character.
