Beautifully Written and Narrated
Revisado: 07-12-24
What a privilege to be invited into Maisie Dobb’s life. Sound strange? Perhaps but this series is so well written that I feel like I’m right there seeing, hearing and feeling what she is experiencing. Her inner dialogue reveals both the progression in the case and a vulnerability in life post her Great War experiences. Woven into the series are the cultural changes, clothing, what it’s like to establish herself as a single woman in society, the changes in British society and more. I’ve read the first four books and am looking forward to reading the whole series.

Beautiful Inner Dialogue Journey
Revisado: 05-29-24
I didn’t know what to expect when I listened to this book. I became intrigued very early in the story with the main character and her journey to finding and knowing herself. The depth of the story, the angst, the questions and decisions made along the way fascinated me. For me it was more a thoughtful slow moving story rather than an action story and that captivated me.

Historia
After an adventurous season spent excavating at Dahshoor, and narrowly averting the clutches of the Master Criminal, Victorian Egyptologist Amelia Peabody Emerson and her spouse prepare for a quiet summer in England. The social and domestic routine, though interrupted by the precocious escapades of their only child, Ramses, hardly seems much of a challenge for the indomitable Emersons.

Enjoyable series
Revisado: 06-12-23
I read the entire series decades ago. But the audiobooks really bring the characters to life. Rosenblat does a marvelous job narrating the stories. I love the story line and the details of family life in the 1800’s in Egypt and London.

Thrilling!
Revisado: 05-26-23
I keep coming back. My heart beats a little faster as Jackman and Evans race toward the killer. I feel the tension in my body as things heat up! A wonderful series that doesn’t disappoint. The performance brings the characters to life carrying the listener through the landscape of police work, drama and the care they experience for each other. Another compelling novel by Ellis!

Kelsey Willoughby doesn’t have time to pursue her dream of writing a novel. Imagination doesn’t pay the bills, and she’s busy saving her beautiful bookshop from online competition, hotel developers, and the sneaking suspicion that nobody reads anymore. Not to mention all those voices telling her she doesn’t have talent. But then the vacant lot of weeds next door starts to shimmer.
